Wow, that is awful! I went on a ride to Eastern Oregon this weekend and just noticed the post. Horrible thing to have happen to nice folk like you and to a perfectly good motorcycle.

I am somewhat local, I am on the other side of Seattle. If there is anything I can do, let me know. I might have some parts if needed.

This guy needs to be prosecuted!

WOW -- glad to hear Vern is pretty much ok, but I imagine that the damage to the bike and collarbone may compromise some of that great tour you two planned around Hookers XX. He's lucky to have you taking care of him. May you heal fast, Vern!

So sorry to hear, so glad the outcome though for the both of you. Hope to meet you at Hookers. Not many husband and wife teams out there. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery of body and bike, and for the prosecution of the bastard who did this to you.

First of all I am glad you are all ok.

Now let me say I am getting ready to sell my 2000 xx (its silver too). Perfect shape, about 28k miles. Bike is mint.

PM me if you are interested. I will be out of town for a few days but will check my mail upon my return.

I hope he heals fully!

Cheers!

Just got back in town and read about your accident. I am glad you are both OK. Let me know if you need any help with the bike. I have some parts from mine that you can have. I'm only about 20 minutes away if you need anything.
Collar bones are very painful. Have you been able to sleep or is the pain just to much. I broak mine about fifteen years ago and you are bringing back some painfull memories. My only advice is to not let your arm hang down without support. I tried it about a week after it happened and passed out from the pain.

Well said Bill.
Hi Kuulei and Vern, good to hear both of you are at home and healin' up.
Can't offer any XX spares, but I could get you on my Mom's old-church-lady prayer list, if you're cool with that. I used to roll my eyes a lot when she told me about it, but as I get older I believe more in the power of this type of thing.

Take care, Glen.

Yeah, I know. At the time that I posted, I had been awake for about 36 hours and wasn't thinking too clearly, but now that everything is all good, it makes me when I see the title!

So, we've received lots of parts in the last week, and I'm going to pick up the rest of it tomorrow from the Honda shop. We should be starting to rebuild it this weekend. I'll make sure to take pictures and keep you updated.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers over the past 3 weeks!

And for all your help and generosity a special thanks goes to:

Kuulei, so sorry to read of this. Its been a month so I hope he's much better. I have a stock windscreen, and a few other parts I'd gladly donate to you guys for free. It's not much, but I'd like to help a fellow rider. Jason

Thanks so much, but we pretty much have everything that we need (except the time to put her back together). Worked on it a little today, but still waiting on the throttle cables, so didn't get too far. Slowly but surely we'll get it done.

Husband is much better, almost everything back to normal, but pushing too much sometimes. I told him no riding for another 2 weeks, and he's pissed about that. But I told him he should be sure he's healed up before we do the LONG ride to HookersXX, no need to re-injure himself for a little instant gratification. I understand his pain though, sun's been out...along with about a million bikes!

On an unrelated note: we were sorry to see your '98 woes but glad to see that you picked up another Bird!

I will try and be quiet when I ride past your neighborhood, on my way up to the Mt. tomorrow

Looking forward to meeting up with you guys soon, and going for a ride together.

HAHA!

I saw your post for that. I would have gone, but I didn't get off of work until 2:30. Maybe next time.

Glad to see you're able to rebuild the bike instead of buying another one! Also glad to hear the recovery is going well, although not as fast as as the husband would like!
