Ride what suits you! If that happens to be the Deauville rather than the XX then so be it.

Just don't expect me to talk to you at the stoplight.

Just kidding. Unless you were on a Silver bird I probably wouldn't talk to you anyway.

Okay, okay, I'm just pulling your leg. Seriously though, if your ride is uncomfortable it makes no difference how fast or pretty it is, it's useless to you. That said, it took a fundamental and conscious change in habits and several thousand kms for me to feel truly comfortable on my bird, but it now feels like slipping on an old pair of jeans.

OK! You are out of your head!

Now that we got that out of the way... It seems like reach to the bars is the issue. I would imagine that your legs are not too cramped. Have you thought about putting on same bar risers that also come back. Some folks have mounted LSL bars that raise the riding position up and back closer to the rider quite a bit. I think that it would be just as high and close to you as your Yamaha Fazer. There are other bar riser issues as well.

This thread has a picture of the LSL bars

Do Bar risers/Footpeg lowering kit Help???

Yes check reality, not sure how long you,ve had the xx what shewie says might be an option ,give yourself time to adjust to the riding style,im 5"7" and 1 cm,love riding the xx,it does command strong arms though
    but you become conditioned anyway.

    Re: honda deuville

Try a test ride on a Triumph Sprint ST 1050 if you can. The triple is light and comes with a low seat height, the fairing is excellent and the hoof along at a fair old lick. Lots of them have luggage too. The engines are excellent, lovely torque and very flexible. I had an earlier Sprint and toured Ireland on it last year with my girlfriend, never missed a beat (the bike that is). The riding position is very upright and keeps the weight off your wrists.
