Hello folks, new to the site and considering encouraging Vstrom owners to participate in a group buy for the Pro-Oiler system. Was your owners group involved in a group buy for this product and if so, who was the dealer/distributer you dealt with. With 30,000 kilometers on my DL1000K4 and a new chainset ready to install this spring, I'm just tired of aerosol chain lubricants. I just got off the phone with Dupont and it'll still be some time before their Teflon Multi-Use Dry Wax Lubricant is available in Canada and that was the last brand I was willing to try before purchasing a Belgium Pro-Oiler kit.

It's not a segment bargain, it's just a great bike.

Thanks for the quick response, I've just read the group discussion postings. Were you dealing with the maker in Belgium or the NY state distributer? Off topic, are high mileage endurance riders like yourself pleased with the reliability of rear Ohlins shocks? I've seen the occasional posting on the net, regarding premature seal leakage on Ohlins. Very close to mounting one on the Strom when changing the chainset and possible Pro-Oiler installation.

I am hooked up with the manufacturer in Belgium.

Re: Ohlins shock for LD Riding. Generally, we have found it to be pretty good. In fact, I've had more problems with the Wilbers than I have the Ohlins.

Now, I have heard (even from our hookup at GPSuspension.com) that the Ohlins needs a "refresh" more often than people think... they recommend something like every 10K-12K miles, something like that. That is pretty often for the serious LD Rider... it'd be like 2-3 times a year for me.

Thanks Warchild, will digest the information and decide on either Wilburs or Ohlins and figure out spring rates needed. The remote reservoir on the Wilburs allows easier installation and removal, I'll probably contact GP Suspension as well, for some advice on brands. Always intended to upgrade the forks with their compression and rebound components when the seals fail in the years to come, just flushed and fitted with Sonic springs presently. Interesting to see you're a tech inspector with the Iron Butt Association, I will make more use of technical advice regarding products, with this in mind.

Thanks again,
