throttle cables

i was trying to rmove excess slack in throttle cable now carbs will not shut quickly. any suggestions? i really have no referance point from here and frustated!!

You should go back and reset cables to where you started.
Also could just be the grip dragging on the switch housing.
That happened to me once and i just tugged the grip back
toward the end of the bar freeing up the movement. There
should be no contact on housing.
