Still seriously considering an Enduro Bike. I will be riding mostly in Arizona. 80 to 90% street riding with the rest on desert roads. I hope to ride 100 plus miles on the highway then hit roads and trail. The KTM are too expensive for me. The Honda Africa Twin and Trans Apls isn't available in the USA, but have found some for sale. Just looking for opinions. The 2008 KLR650 will be setup for greater ease of riding on the road (Lower set height, better brakes, different head and suspension).

Buy the way how much do Honda Africa Twin or Trans Alps sell for used in NZ?

Thx,

Bob

My recommendation would be a used KLR. I doubt the 2008 is that much better on the Street. The current models will do 100 miles of pavement very easily and can be had for a great price. The money you save can go towards needed upgrades like a Doohickey, Superbrace and better Brakes up front.

BTW, I think the XR650L would hurt after 100 miles of pavement.

If you've got a line on an African twin BUY IT!

I had 2 XR650Ls and always wanted more power. When your other bike is an 1100 that happens.
