OK.......I know I'm a bit behind the times on this one, but we just rented MotoGP '06 and this game really kicks ass!
I tried Tourist Trophy few times last year, but in the few short times I got to play it, it seemed harder to get the hang of. Anyone else find that to be true???

Hey Mr. Winkler, loved your show.
I was looking at those 2 games the other day, but the dork in the store didn't know a thing about them.
He said I could come in the store to try them this week.
Question: When your rider leans into the corner, how does your view change?
Let me know, Glen.

It's been too long for me to answer that question about TT, but on GP it feels/seems like you're really leaned over........to the point that sometimes I have a hard time seeing anything other than pavement and where to start lifting up outa the curve
Not sure if that's what you were lookin' for/helpful

On MotoGP 06 on the XBox 360 you can choose several views, so if you're viewing from behind the bike you can still see everything quite well.
I guess you're talking about MotoGP on the PlayStation since TT is also on the PS?

Naaaawwwwww.........I got more game systems floating around here than you could swing a dead cat at Conq. Kids just got 360 for Christmas, and now they're whining they want a Wii
Played TT on PS2.......have GP on the 360. Haven't tried changing the views yet. Just started playing day or 2 ago, and been a busy weekend with kids hoops tourneys in 2 different towns.........but I definately think I'm gonna be picking it up "for keeps" |

Moto GP is still on my to buy list for the 360, but it kicked butt on the standard Xbox.
Played TT on the PS2 (not available on Xbox), and I thought it was very good - especially using the Bird. I just don't like playing "imaginary" tracks. The only good track is Trial Mountain imho.

The majority of the tracks on TT are real Moto GP\AMA tracks. Love TT, cause you get to ride the Bird, haven't played Moto GP 06 yet.

Ive played both but own TT just because the Bird is in it.
I like the Moto GP play characteristics better than TT but how can you not own the one that has the Bird in it?

TT for sure. Seems more realistic. I voted other because of the PS3 release slated for late summer. Gran Turismo HD. It will include bikes vs. cars, etc. Surely to blow away previous titles.

I picked 'other'as I'm still trying to get motoGP 02 down. I'm no gamer but I had the xbox.....
I'd like to find a good rally racing game, a dirt bike game, and I would buy TT if they made it fir Xbox as I'm not buying another game machine. I'll try motogp 06 some day.

I've spent some time at my friends playing the GP 06 and he's right. You can change the views to see anything. Try that first and see if you like it. It might still be available for free download trial if you just want to see the views.? maybe one day they will offer an update for all bikes.

Has anyone played Riding Spirits? It's an old title for PS2...but I used to love playing that game. You could tinker with the bikes pretty good. Change wheels, exhaust, carbs, weight, remove signals, upgrade forks, etc. The graphics would not be up to par now. But I like tinkering with stuff. I wish TT allowed you to do the things Gran Turismo allows you to do to cars! But its fun too!
I have not played MGP6...

I don't do too many racing games on consoles. I like to do my racing games on the PC and I have my force-feedback wheel setup and all. IMO, the best rally game of all times is Richard Burns Rally and if you can find a copy, is available for PS2 and XBOX. The game is a little old, but I think the handling of the cars is just perfect. With the FF wheel, the realism is absolutely unbelievable but it still maintains the fun factor as well. I think some games are too realistic and then they aren't fun anymore, but Richard Burns just amazes me at how much time I can waste sitting in front of my computer.
I have played TT on the PS2 and I thought it was an OK game. I can't really compare it to anything else since I haven't really played too many other realistic motorcycle games. It was pretty sweet to see the XX in the game and be able to take it out on a track.

Just a heads-up -- I've seen MotoGP '06 for the 360 on clearance at a couple of places for $20. I've played versions 4 and 5 on the PC and 6 was decidedly better -- smoother, much better rendering and great scenary. I read an interview with Colin Edwards where he says the tracks in MotoGP '06 are so accurate, he was using it as a training tool! Don't know how serious he was being, but it is interesting.
I had heard TT for the PS2 has the IOM TT course -- is that true? That's a course I someday plan to ride in real life -- but would like to see it in a game between now and that far off "someday"!

I've never played MotoGP '06... but I do have one complaint about TT. Acceleration... or lack thereof. I clocked the 1100XX from 0-60 on the game and I recall it being closer to 7 seconds instead of the more realistic 3 seconds. Not a big deal... I think it may be more fun if you have to fight to keep the front down, not fight to keep the front up.
Plus... with TT you can take screenshots and save to a USB flash drive!
