I dont know about the speed. I've lost two friends in the past year+ going way too fast but I think your average city street wreck is generally at slower speeds (exceptions for that guy who has no problem going 90 on a crowded city street). I notice NHSTA has some new info worth reviewing while IIHS is till weak on their coverage of moto info

I found it interesting in the Oklahoma drivers manual (OK being one the states with a bad fataility rate)
http://www.dps.state.ok.us/dls/pub/ODM.pdf that they spend one page discussing "sharing the road with motorcycles" and 5 pages on "how not to get hit by a train". I know where every train is likely to hit me ........ ON TRAIN TRACKS!
Of course most of you are seasoned riders and know it's freakin open season on motorcycle riders in America. Europe is light years ahead of America on public education. This study seems to be a European crash test (I dont know for sure) I'm not sure the Aussies (chime in you S.hemi guys if you aint ridin mid summer down there)
