While out riding my usual 110 mile loop course near where I live, I got tagged by a LEO right after I had sat down from standing on the pegs to stretch out. He must have come in from a side road, because there was no one behind me when I made the right hand turn onto my, er, mile plus WFO section of the course.
Of course, I pulled over, took off my gloves and helmet and sat.
He came up to with an attitude. " Is there some reason you were standing that thing up?" I said, It wasn't the bike, it was me. Gets awfully tight in the crotch, and besides, I'm to old for that foolishness.
He looked to be about half my age.
I need to see your license. I clocked you at 82 in a 55. He went and got his ticket book. I began to wonder how much this was going to cost. As he was wrighting the ticket, I told him that I had a bad case of cabin fever/blues, etc.
I also commented what nice penmanship he had and he stopped. Looking at me he said: I write better than this sitting down!
Tell you what I'll do, I'll write this up for 69 in a 55 so you won't get any points on your license and the fine won't be as much. Wrote me up as having gray hair.

I thanked him and decided to sit for a bit.
I signed the ticket and he left very quickly. I called the next week and found out the ticket was $131.00. Not to bad, considering that this was the fourth time I had been pulled over and always gotten warnings for speeding.
Memo to self: ALWAYS check mirrors before standing up to stretch, pass, etc.
I am going riding tomorrow with some guys in north GA. A ZRX 1200, TL 1000, & a GSXR 1000. My XX still has the bullet hole decals on the left cowl.
SEE YA!
