Thanks...
Ever notice when dynoing a stock ignitioned bike if the tach coincides with
the tach on the dyno console ?
Reason I ask is Bandits are 500 RPM's off at top end...
Wondering about the BB.

Thanks for giving us a first hand account Forrest! I was tearing up the Sierras that day with a big group of peeps and only heard about your run.

You might not need to raise the HP much. I remember when the ZX12 came out Muzzy put a 4/1 on it & did a tune-up on the bike, the ZX12 hit 199 mph.
A stock ZX12 makes about 160 hp.

Not basic stock but the UK V&M Anniversary 1200 Blackbird did an official 200mph with 180 rwhp. It was an official Honda model, only 50 made, but made it the first production road bike to top the 200 barrier.

You can gear your bike to hit 250 if you want to. You can find a great Excel gearing spreadsheet on that inferior board. Download it and play with the sprocket numbers till you find the one that will allow you to hit your target speed.
Remember this.......
A stock, or mildly modified BB doesn't have enough horsepower or torque to get the job done.

Here is a gearing spreadsheet for you guys.
The parameters are at the bottom for changing tire size, sprockets, etc.
You can calibrate easily using the tire aspect ratio.
Find some RPM, say 5000. Note your GPS or radar speed.
Adjust tire aspect ratio till the values for the speed/gear matches the RPM.
Have fun.

What will an 18 and 45 change do to a completely stock 01 BB? Top end? Gearing taking off, hard on the clutch or no problem?

The answer is in the spreadsheet above.
A more relaxed cruising RPM, a little better fuel consumption, a little slower acceleration, probably little or no top speed improvement.
