One more bit for the bike

Woohoo!

I just ordered the Pro oiler from Pablo. I'm doing the chain and sprockets too (+1 on the front). Intelligence says I should get the DB ST screen for my long-ass commute, but I kinda like the way the bike looks now with a Memphis Shades sporty model.

OK, so the truth is, the bikes been in the garage for several weeks with the back end missing. Thanksgiving holiday travelling, below zero temps outside = freezing garage . . . and general laziness. Can't wait to get it all put together. I made the mistake of cleaning the wheels. They are shiny black again . . . but now I can see all the scratches and dings that were previously hidden by road grime.

Oh, I also did the HID's. Haven't ridden with them yet, but they look pretty awesome in the driveway.

Not sure if I should buy electric gear next. Another post is coming on that.

Re: One more bit for the bike

I love my pro-oiler. I have only made very minor adjustments to the chain in the last 10,000km. The only downside is having to clean the rear wheel every 2-4 weeks - but then, you wouldnt see the scratches....

HID's are great, I have them hi/lo and are magnificent at 3am when going home from work on a Monday morning.

HID's are AWESOME. Nothing like seeing a mile down the road. I just purchased the Tourmaster heated gear and it's working great too. We just got our official cold front yesterday so I will be able to test it out tomorrow. I will post up my thoughts about the heated gear as well soon.

Re: One more bit for the bike

Thanks Silverbird. I look forward to the reviews?

So . . . what is considered a cold front down there? Below 65?

Actually, I know the plains can get pretty darn cold. The other morning I was clearing off the steps up to the house (snow) and thought that my boogers were unusually cold. I jumped in my truck to check the temp. -10 air temp. The wind chill is what takes the heart outta ya.

That said, I'm not that tough. Check out that Adventure Riders club link that is in one of the other heated gear threads. There are some amazing photos and interesting writing.

Umm, I'm not sure why I put a question mark after a statement. Apparently not enough coffee on the drive in.
