Well Hiesti, The tiny bit of black ice and rain I whinge about, fades into insignificance, compared to your problems with the snow, I just choose another road that doesn't have ice on it, My hat is off to you mate,
How long are you off the road when it is snowing like that, do you run spike tyres in the winter, or put your XX away for the duration of the snow season.
Occasonally high winds and heavy rain are the only problems we have here in sunny Australia, 30 to 40 degrees celsius in summer, -3 in winter, very rarely
Do we actually have snowfalls where I live.
Brian.

Thanks all, pics are looking great!
When is the deadline? I'm working on some action pics, or do you just want glam shots?

Re: Double-X's In Super Streetbike Magazine

I'm working on some better shots, smoke show stuff but it's hard to find a dry day with no city folk filling the streets. cool neons, I've been thinking about some of those but just dont ride at night much.

Re: Double-X's In Super Streetbike Magazine

The neons were installed in one afternoon, I ride often at night or at least when its dark outside. Yeah understand finding a dry clear free of obstacle day. I usually find a back country road and a long stretch of straight pavement to stretch the xx's legs a little

Thanks all for the pics and text, I'll be working on the piece this weekend so if anyone can get me the stuff by Saturday evening, that would be great!

Oh yah, and this will be running in the Feb issue which you should see toward the end of next month. I'll definitely let you all know once it's available in stores.

Pretty Cool - I like the neons because I can turn them on and off as I please or "when needed" .....but those graphics are pretty sweet!

Re: Double-X's In Super Streetbike Magazine

I've often wondered about the neons. I thought that they had outlawed them. I guess that was only on cars??? Does anyone know for sure?

Ladyninja, Do you find that you get pulled over more with lights?

Ladyninja, Do you find that you get pulled over more with lights?

The only ones that are illegal to my knowledge are Blue Red and white, reason being those are emergency colors. I have been pulled over because of the neons yes, have I ever gotten a ticket because of them no. Hence the reason of the turn off/on switch. When an officer pulls me over and says they are illegal, I just say Oh I'm sorry officer I didn't know that and I turn them off. An officer once told me that its a distraction going down the road to drivers, I said well at least they saw me and cell phones are more of a distraction than my neons sir. So yes they are illegal, more colors are more attractive to police than others, but I haven't gotten a ticket for them and most police officers are pretty cool about it. I don't know about other cities or states...... Just Michigan. All the bikes I ride with have neons on them. The two blackbirds have purple and blue, the ninja has green, the F4 has yellow soon to be teal, and the R6 has pink. They look awesome and the neons use less battery power than the LEDs. Hope this answers your question~

Re: Double-X's In Super Streetbike Magazine

I've always felt that they do make you more noticeable and should be allowed outside of the emergency colors that you mention.

Re: Double-X's In Super Streetbike Magazine

Well think about it, my gear is solid black, my bike solid black...so at night I'm barely seen until I turn on my neons...
