Ok Guys, how long can you ride your xx's w/o stopping because of pain??
I'm looking to keep a good long distance mount but am not sure if I'm a wimp or realistic.
I have peg lowering brackets, Heli's and a double bubble windscreen.

MMMM, Corbin fits my fat ass, Heli bars help my wrists, no issue with stock screen, I usually ride a couple hours or so when I begin then stop every hour or so to pee. Many ride much, much more than I. I have no issues with stopping when I have to. For me it's a safety issue. 6-700 kms is enough for me in one day. I don't ride at night and I usually know in advance where I plan to spend the night when touring. When I'm with my wife, it's usually less.

I've ridden 9 1/2 hours straight (except the occasional 5 minute rest for peeing/smoking). That was the day that I collected the bike, far far from home. I must admit that I felt pretty sore when I got home. But this was on a bone stock bike, and I hadn't gotten used to the riding position back then.
Now I have bar risers from Jaws. That's the only mod as far as riding position goes. I can go for hours and hours.
Up to 5 hours - easy peasy.
8 hours - it's nice to get off the bike at the end of the day, but I'm ready for more the next morning.
10 hours or more - ouch, my lower back and my bum (monkey butt syndrom) hurts..!

I'm comfy for 2-2.5 hours which is about as long as I would want to ride any bike without stopping for a break. I put the VFR bars on mine. I don't do a lot of long distance touring these days. I will go out riding all day and stopping after 2 hours seems pretty normal for those types of rides.

On our Sunday rides we usually go for anywhere from 6-8hrs, covering about 300 miles usually. My right wrist usually gets a little sore, but that's from shattering it about 10yrs ago, I always try & maintain a "proper riding position", meaning, balls of the feet on the pegs & holding myself up w\my knees "grabbing" the tank rather than using my arms to hold myself up.

Most I've rode is 650 miles last Wed and I'm leavin tomorrow morning @ 0600 to head back to Colorado (another 650 miles). This is through the flat plains of KS. I never really got sore but I've the the Zero Gravity sport touring screen which looks great on the Blackbird and really nothing else.

I rode from Seaford to Shepparton (via Marysville) - a 5 hour trip. I wouldn't want to much more than that without any preparation first.

On trips exceeding 5 hours I bring a couple of painkillers just in case..

Yes, Aspirin or the like plus a can of Red Bull, Red Rain or RockStar, for the last few hours.

Red Bull (or the like) is really the last option when all else fails. It contains calories equal to a full dinner plate, it's bad for your teeth, it makes you fart, and (on a more serious note) you get DEAD TIRED when the sugar rush wears out..
As far as fatigue goes, the best way to fight it is to take regular small breaks, and have a "real" meal (not MacD) every 3 or 4 hours.

For me, because I have to take a few months off a year due to winter, I find that in the spring I can't ride nearly as far in a day as I can in the fall.
As long as you "fit" your XX, and use a proper riding position, it's all a matter of getting your body used to being in the " riding " position for longer and longer periods of time.
Like I have stated in earlier posts, I have shorter legs, so I have had no issues on my XX , and have made no handle bar/rear set changes as the stock ergo's work very well for me.
Don't forget, part of being a motorcyclist ,is being able to ride "through" the pain.

I can ride for 8 hours with no problem as long as I get some pee breaks.
The stock ergos on the XX fit me fine even at 6' 2" but I did just put some peg-lowering brackets on which will make it a bit more comfy. If I could score some VFR bars at a decent price I might try those, but I don't really need them.
I don't put weight on my wrists when I ride - I use my back to hold me up and usually just have my right hand on the throttle if I'm droning along so I can sit as upright as possible.
I'm going to get a beadrider seat to help with the ass pain.

13 hours, 2 food breaks, the other stops were for gas, 2 days in a row. My only complaints were for the warm outside temperatures. Lowered, Heli bars, stock screen.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but when some of you refer to the Zero Gravity screens, is it just the double bubble or the ST (sport touring) screen? I've had a db on another bike, but I think I want more protection from the elements.
To answer the original post question, I can go for several hours without a problem and my bike is basically bone stock. I commute an hour to work each a.m. and it takes about 1.5 hours on the way home due to traffic. So doubling that is no problem. That said, I've put in plenty of six hour rides on a Ducati that was far less forgiving posture wise. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment, but as you all know, when you swing a leg over your bike and pull through the first few gears, it's love all over again, every time.

I rode 550 miles in two days-my butt and wrists hurt, but I stopped and got some good stretching in-VFR bars, lowered pegs, Givi windshield, stock seat.
