I think back of all of the Hondas I've had since the 70's and wonder why these bikes have reached icon status in many instances but they have pulled the production of all of the following. Including:

SL70= street legal small dirt bike-name one now?
76 Goldwing+ great touring standars w/o all the crap
85 VF500F= fun middleweight
VT 500 Ascot+ cool vtwin (never had one though)
NT Hawk= going for 2k+ on ebay now (think suzuki sv650=huge success)
VTR1000= reliable ducati-like awesome bike-tank is too small for touring
XR400= the perfect dirtbike....
Valkyrie= holding its value better than any Harley

and-
CBRXX- bump it up to 1300 and kick Busa's ass

I wish I could have an hour with their marketing gurus.

Would you add or delete from this list?

I'll just have to say also the cbrxx issue has got to rate somewhere at the top of the greatest marketing screwups in the industry. "bad","speed","fastest","horsepower" ect. are words not in honda's vocabulary anymore (besides motogp). i think suzuki sales over 10,000+ busa's a year?, ZX14, new VMAX. Thats not why i buy a motorcyle, but alot of other people seem to like it.

At my Dealer, you can buy an 08 ZX14 for $9,995.00 and the Concours for $14,995.00. But my Bird still looks great. Don't know why Honda won't step up to the plate. In fact, because the dealer wouldn't give up Ducati, Susuki and Kawi they dropped him and he not longer deals Honda's. But he still has the best tech who services my Bird. Go figure.

I liked my 85 V65 Sabre but didn't care for the newer versions or the shaft drive. I owned a 77 goldwing. I'll never own another land yatch motorcycle. Might as well be in a convertible. Better stereo and you can put the top up if it rains.
