Sorry to hear of your accident. Sounds like you must be mostly OK which is the more important part. Motorcycles can be rebuilt or replaced. I ride at night but I would agree that it is a bit more risky. Black motorcycles are also harder for the cagers to see. There have been posts up that have provided links to aftermarket faring parts. Good luck in getting back on the road.

Sorry to hear about that man but one good thing is you're able to be on here telling us about it. Godspeed on the healing! BIRD parts can be replaced with a little $$$$ no big deal. Before you know it you'll be back on her and posting up about the ride you went on.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, glad you are OK. Hope you can fix her up and get back to flyin'. My biggest fear is getting blasted from behind sitting at a light like a friend of mine. By a drunk a** of course. Godspeed and Cheers.

Pretty sure they are identical. Check first about the FI vs carb'd version tho.

Sorry to hear about your off. I have had that happen to me once when I was travelling at 70kmh. I was on my way to the gun club and had 250 12g shotgun cartridges in a bag sitting on my lap. I'm lucky to be alive to talk about that one. What did the doc say about your injuries?
Did the piece that broke from the engine casing put a hole in the casing or was it just the fairing mounting bracket?
Hope you get everything sorted soon and get back out on the road.

not trying to sound critical at all here, but don't you have insurance to cover this? It seems like every time I read about a get-off the rider is looking for all sorts of parts to put the bike back together. I know insurance should be avoided if possible so you don't get hosed in premiums but man, if your engine is shot...I think insurance should be considered, especially since the cager's should be the one covering you in this case. Again, not being critical- handle your situation how you like, just trying to understand.

i have liability and insurance wont cover it unless i actually hit the car. which is, for lack of a better word, stupid.

ugh, bummer. so I guess the cager didn't stop or at least avoided blame? I carry full coverage just because I know I can't afford to fix any major damages out of pocket. I realize it could be a money issue for not carrying full coverage, but I got into it really cheap at $150/yr. so you might want to consider shopping around for future policy holding... it can be had reasonably if you have a good record.
