I have recently purchased a 99 two owner Blackbird, the second owner only had the bike for three weeks and only put appox. 75 miles on the bike before his wife made him sell it. He stated the reason for the sale was that he and his two sons, ages 18 and 20 only have dirt bike experience and his wife was afraid they would kill themselves if they kept the bike.
This Bird only has 12,000 miles and was in great condition. I have only had to do normal maintenance and clean up to get it ready. I am waiting UPS for the new chain and sprockets.
Looking forward to seeing how the Bird compares to the FJR. |

Glad you have seen the light
(I'm sure one of the moderators will move this over to an introductions forum)

motorsports1... Glad to see that you have joined the club. Especially after your less then pleasant experience with the one other potential seller and bike. Can't wait to see some pictures of your new ride and see what you think of it compared to the FJR. I've been on an FJR but don't have a whole lot of time on them. Sounds like you found a nice low mileage bird. Enjoy the bird. I think you will like it.

Strange it needs a chain already. My original went 25K but was a little sloppy for the last 2K or so. Most guys get 16-25K without automatic chain oilers---those will go longer.
Keep your FJR too?
Happy trails, kel

| From Oz. Sounds like a Great deal. Previous owners may have had chain too tight. That'll wreck em in no time. Enjoy and Be Safe.

| From New York. Congrats on the new ride. I am sure you will fall in love with this wonderful machine as did the rest of us.
I got my BIRD from a guy who's wife made him sell it too. I don't know the details but for me it worked out great. I got my '02 with 900 miles on it for $6,800.00 US. Practically brand new.
Sometimes you gotta like a nagging wife (especially when she isn't yours).
Anyway enjoy that BIRD, and welcome.
