I was wondering if any of you have experience with these Gear Indicators

The website lists it as available (or appropiate) for the CBR1100XX, but does not indicate any particular years.

In the part description says

"The Datatool Digital Gear Indicator (DIGI-E) is suitable for use on motorcycles equipped with an electronic speedometer and electric rev counter (that is bikes that ONLY have electrical wiring to the gauges!). "

Which I am not sure if the 1999's do. Do any of you here know if these work with the 1999's?

Anybody installed one yet on any year?

all birds use a digital signal, even though the early ones use an analog gauge...

Awwwww, now I want one! my v65 Sabre had one mounted between the speedo & tach, and I miss it.....

Yes, all bird have digital signal for speed and revs. No mechanical connections to the dash.

I have an Acumen Gear selector indicator and thoroughly recommend it over any other. You can buy a " plug and play loom " that just plugs into the existing speedo wiring and doesnt need any cutting, soldering or anything else. You can get them on Ebay but if you go to the Acumen site they have a list of dealers world wide there. Check this site Acumen Electronics - Motorcycle Security and Electronic Motorcycle Accessories

See a pic of mine here. Like I said, in my opinion these are the best of this type of mod on the market. I've had mine for over a year and it has been faultless. There is a range of colours of the digital readout and also the anodised housing the digital part sits in. All the best with it mate.
