For those of you wanting carbon fiber bits I have a good friend who made me a carbon fiber V pannel. Its the piece between the two lower fairings. It can be made in regular carbon fiber, carbon twill, carbon kevlar, red carbon, yellow carbon, blue carbon. If anyone is interested in having one made let me know. No idea on price but it will be very reasonable. Just need to know if its worth making a batch of just keeping the 1 special piece for myself. All the hard work is done as the mold is completed. Send me a PM

pics added see above post. Price still not 100 percent sure as I havent gotten an actual ok it costs this much to make it and this much to mass produce or whatever so I am guessing its going to be somewhere around 3-350 bucks for the part. Keep in mind this can be made many different ways ie carbon kevlar, red carbon, blue carbon, yellow carbon, green carbon, silver carbon and so on. Pictures are of carbon twill. Send me PM if interested so I know whether to get things into production. Time from order to delivery probably about 2 weeks

I think that there is a difference between the 97-98 and 99+ v-panels. Jaws was looking for one for me. He had a carbed v-panel, but not an EFI one.

As far as I can tell they are the exact same. The top area is different but that is above the V pannel because of the ram air ducts on the FI model but please feel free to email me detailed pictures of it removed from the bike so I can compare to be sure. cbr_bear@yahoo.com

Man those are EFFIN sweet! I'm not sure how those would hold up tho considering what the tire will throw at it and I know CF scratches so easily.
How they holdin up?

Its just fine, its a pretty thick piece as it is re enforced pretty well. It is lighter than stock but not by too much and I put a clear pastic coating over it called invisiguard to protect it. It only has about 150 miles since install but it looks great.

The parts are different for carbed and F.I. bikes. A V-piece for a carbed bike will NOT fit a F.I. bike. A F.I. V-piece may fit a carbed bike. That I can not attest to. I tried to fit a carbed V-piece to my '03 and it would not fit. The V-piece you show appears to be a F.I. model V-piece. later,,,
