Imagine you're living in a freaky universe where the Blackbird was never invented.
Assuming you'd still be riding a bike, what bike would you be riding?

Up to my wife (since she is a pillion of great importance to me and my accountant)? BMW K1200GT! Yep I might be getting old.

ZX14R ................ have had several Kwakas and have a soft spot for the things !
1098 Duke would tweak my interest if it wasn't so damn expensive in Oz !

my first bike was a '93 Zuk gsxr750 - i hated and loved that bike at the same time
mainly didn't have the aftermarket selection anymoreat the time I had it & it had an electrical problem that baffled me for 2/3 the time I owned it
but I did like the way it looked and seeing what some of the folks are doing to the older bikes with custom parts makes me miss it a little
I also like the gsxr1000 with the superman headlight
if I had to go buy a bike now it would probably be the kaw zx14

Honda has released the CB1000R in the UK.... THis would be a fun bike to ride. I think it could use a small windshield though. Basicaly a 600 Hornet with a detuned 06-07 1000RR engine with more mid-range.
THe single side swingarm is sweet...

I just purchased a GSXR1000 as a second bike, because I already had a Bird,but, if I didn't have a bird I would go with the Busa...but not the ugly 08 truck looking thing......a 99 cinnamon, un-restricted Busa.

Well if I lived near a track I would like a Fireblade. I couldn't go for an eyeabuser. I'd opt for a ZX14 for everyday riding.

Probably try a Triumph triple of some sort, maybe a Tiger, or a Duke Multistrada or ST.

I stepped up to the bird after riding an F2, so if the bird hadn't been around, I probably woulda gone with a VFR. Now that I've had a bird... if there's no replacement when the time comes, then I'd probably go with BMW's version (K1200) or maybe a ZX14.

i just seen a new fireblade up close
a little more horsepower than a stock bird...
I'd have to get a more comfy seat, but otherwise would be a good machine...

No doubt Nutter, I'd be riding a Duc St4-abs. I'd have the "best" of both worlds, sort of. A hot Duc V-Twin plus a tourer. Just like I'm trying to create with my Bird, successfully I think. I almost bought a black one untill I saw the Bird. Cheers.

DUC St4. Nice bike but.... Lots of maint costs. Also has a lot of known issues. If you are a good wrench maybe. I have a friend who had one. Got rid of it and bought himself an FJ1300. More power. More Comfy. More reliable. Cheaper too.
