I have read a few threads regarding vibrations but no answers and no direct issue like mine!???
I have a 99 FI model and it has just developed a vibration that can be felt through the foot pegs - left side more! This happens when i back off on the throttle and go onto overun - any ideas would be great???
Power and fuel consumption all good and when declutched at speed - all smooth and no vibration????????

Rgds

Could be your chain and sprockets starting be on finish, or just chain beginning to have tight spots. Had similar prob on my bird last summer, fixed with new set.

That sounds like a good possibility. I had a friend riding some sort of long forgotten ugly cruiser on a trip that a bunch of us took and he complained about the same thing. His chain was just loose. It was also slapping up against the chain gaurd.

Front sprocket bent / worn teeth or chain.

Well on further investigation it would appear that the vibration is to do with the chain - bit confused though as it has only doen 1500 miles and i do motorways so its constant????? Do chains stretch in place and not in others as this is what it appears???? Would this appear to be a dud chain????

When you changed your chain 1500 miles ago, did you also change both sprockets? If you did, I don't think your chain has anything to do with it. Perhaps one or more of the clutch plates are warped..?
