| How do you guys handle people driving in the Left Lane that will not move over? I’ve tried flashing the lights and it works for some but other will hit there brakes or simply will not move. This is very frustrating for me and happens almost daily as I use Big Black to commute 80miles round trip to work and back. I don’t think lane splitting is legal here and I know shooting them isn’t. I’m not a doctor but I am loosing me patients…..

When safe to do so, you can use them as a mobile chicane and then flash the brake lights at them.

Have you tried using the left turn signal?
Unlike flashing you don't piss them off and ppl usually get it (assuming they DO see U).
Don't play chicken games with such ppl. U might be run over by someone who confuses the brake and accel. pedals or just grip the wheel and close their eyes .
BTW, isn't passing on the right legal in the US?

I spend most of the time on the freeway in the left lane (hence my nick), and when someone in front of me won't move over to the right, I usually wait until there is a clear spot in the right lane and make an effective pass on their right side (I try not to stay in the blind zone/kill zone for more than a second or two) ..
I never flash the high beam or anything. Don't want to provoke them into doing something silly, like getting on the brakes or forcefully yanking the car into the right lane with no warning.

Nothing bugs me more than these jackasses that won't move over. If you give them the "flash of the lights as a heads up , crap or get of the pot" sign they hit the brakes !!!!!!! Are they nuts ! My blood boils when this happens . I will then do whatever it takes to get around them and then go slow, if they want to go slow we can go slow alright. I have thought about carrying a small can of WD40 in my pocket to give them a little spray see how well they can see though the windshield with that on there. For the most part I try to stay off the Interstate Hwy to avoid all that nonsense, way to dangerous.

when it comes to these people, I concern myself with safety more than legality...
If there is a nice big shoulder, that is free of debris, I'll use that...go around quickly, leave plenty of room and be on my way...
the odds of them pulling onto the shoulder is slim, the odds of them changing lanes without signal or warning is much greater...

In my car I just get behind them and will them out of my way. It actaully works most times. For the the ones that for some reason that want to drive the same speed as the people to the right of them. I start getting closer and closer to there bumper. The usually move after they see me smiling at them in the rear view mirror. Since I live in South Florida on my bike I just deal with it. Most of the people here can not drive and have really bad eyesight. So for some reason they do not see me and want to put there car in the same spot as my bike.
As for shooting them I would like to but ...... Then work would take my gun away from me.

Evil trick that was told to me by a Police Officer that rides a TL1000..............
Keep a small leather or similar container of old nuts and bolts attached on the triple tree. Forget about tailgating or flashing, instead pass them the first safe opportunity. Once you are in front don't slow them down but go the same speed as them and reach into your pouch and place one small bolt on top of your left thumb. While holding your hand directly in front of you, "flick" the bolt straight up and watch the rear view mirror for its landing location !! After about 2 tries you will get pretty good at hitting bulls eyes each shot without disclosing your target practicing!!
Always keep a close watch out for discovery of what you are doing from the rear and keep a steady throttle hand and be on the ready to twist counter-clockwise quickly as neccessary.
I have actually bounced a dozen off a hood before they moved out of the left lane. So far have never seen a windshield crack but often wonder why not ! They must not be going fast enough!
Of course this story is all complete fiction and has not and will not ever actually take place !!!

Since lane splitting is the norm here, I just go around them and flip them off for being inconsiderate lane hogs.
It is plainly posted on pretty much every multi lane freeway/highway for slower traffic to stay right. When they do not do as is posted on big ole white signs with big bold black letters, they deserve no respect and get none from me.
What do you all feel about cel phone to the head while driving a 2 ton bullet idiots that don't use signals while not paying full attention to the road?

It should be illegal to yack on the phone while driving. As for flipping birds, when I travel in the USA I'm very caucious because you all can carry a gun!!! As for throwing things at drivers, you must be JOKING!!. When all is said and done nothing beats patience. When drivers urk us and piss us off it puts us at a disadvantage because it raises our blood pressure and takes our focus off the most important issue when riding, safety. My 2 cents. Road rage can kill us.

I might be pissed off at some stupid cager but, I do not want to cause a wreck for the people behind me.
Most Americans are just fat & lazy, too damned lazy to follow the rules of the road and much too lazy to go out and buy a gun.
As of July 1st hands free devices are the law in California and that is going to even piss off the LAPD because they are just as guilty with the damned phone up to their heads.

Living in a major US city I can tell you that most of the issues with drivers in my area are from the large influx of illegal aliens that we have here along with the newer legal residents from other countries. They have no concept about safe driving and wouldn't understand you if you were cussing them out. It gets real interesting in the winter since many of these 3rd world types have never seen snow. When the white stuff starts to fall they don't know what to do. Cell phone need to be banned in cars. They need to make something in cars that dampen the signal and make them inoperable unless the engine if off. I do a lot of road cycling as well and you don't know how many times I've almost been creamed by idot cagers on cell phones or worse yet on their PDA's sending an email.

This exemption was brought in for emergency cases where radio transmissions were not possible, but the cops know about the exemption and a lot of them dont care what reason they have to use the phone whilst driving.

No one is exempt as far as I am concerned when my life is on the line.

carefully, pass them on the right. I have found in those instances, even if they then decide to move right after me, by the time they check the mirror I can be at least 2 car lengths ahead of them and be back in the left lane.

What really frosts my balls is when I'm behind some idiot who refuses to move out of the left lane until I decide to go around him/her on the right.
Then they decide to change lanes! I've come to expect that, and I'm ready to flick it back into the left lane. And I hate having to let go of the throttle to flip 'em the finger as I go by.

i dont slow down on the freeway unless i need a sec to figure out the maze in front of me.
my norm is 130... if the cages in the right lane arent going fast enough, i overtake. have made very good use of some very small gaps doing this... some prolly too small lol
this all said though (i like the idea of the "flick" with the small objects) if someone cuts me off.... im the first to buzz em back.
im waiting for the next one that tries to change lanes into me (thats gotten real old..) im hankerin for knocking someones side mirror off.

Over here people drive on the left, so I'll reverse it, but it's actually illegal for a bike to ride on the outside lane (unless within 50 metres of a u-turn), and only allowed in the middle lane when overtaking. The left hand lane is reserved for slow traffic and bikes which makes it easier for the coppers to "jab" (catch) you for any reason from not indicating whether you intend to overtake or not to non-standard tire tread pattern.
