My Bird never came with a toolkit. Warchild says you need the factory tool for changing the plugs. Anyone have an extra kid to spare? I'll pay shipping and what it's worth.

thanks

Well, you don't absolutely have to have it to take out the plugs, but it does make life a bit easier in the cramped confines of where you'll be working.

Too, I wrote that Superblackbird.com article well before the days of the PAIR Valve Blockoff Plates.... once you remove all that plumbing, there is considerably more room to work with.

What Dale says is true, you can remove the plugs without the factory plug wrench. I used 1/4 in ratchet and extensions. That said, the factory wrench has a good rubber plug holder inside it that keeps you from dropping a plug. I used it the second time.
The irridium plugs are delicate, you do not check the gap of the plug because you will damage the electrode. If you don't find a kit, check a salvage yard. You only need the wrench. I have a big one near by, Steves in Tifton, GA. But I never know when I will be in that town.

The OEM wrench looks like the cheap plug wrenches you get with a chainsaw. Except it has the good rubber plug retainer, and a hex/allen handle that swivels out of the top.

The only useful bit of the toolkit is the plug spanner I think
It looks cheap and nasty, but it does the job well
Toolkits come up on ebay in the UK
Or if desperate you could buy a new one from Honda?

I decided on just getting the wrench from RonAyers.com It was about 10 bucks, the whole kit is 50. I was surprised at the quality of the replacement air filter and brake pads from Honda.
