So anyways.....you slow coloured guys can all stand around mooing like a bunch of cows in heat over this thing....or you can just lay down and give it up.
RED = FAST clour = slow.
So why don't you and your little herd of moo cow want ta be's just stop wasting every's time with this nonsense. The grass is in fact greener on my side of the fence...try it, you will like it.
Besides, despite popular belief....speed does not kill.....cows on the road do.
| Of course the grass is greener on your side of the fence. Take a look at your boots and you'll see why. Not to worry, though, your red XX handgrips are tailor made for scraping manure off of boots.
Mooing, laying down, and giving up are some of the more popular distractions we silver XX owners employ when we've been sated, paid our tab, and are still waiting for you to overtake the '74 conversion school bus we passed 132 miles ago.
There's horsepower in a silver spraycan waiting for you at the local Ace. You needn't be embarrased to buy it. Just tell the clerk your bike is already silver and you're just touching up some of the re-entry burns.

The whole stop sign, stop light thing has been "girlie" thrown at us before, try another a angle.......like, hey Lois, did you ever notice how slow the space shuttle goes when it has all that red stuff shooting out of the bottom of it, yup all together now.....mach 1 million......hello
Oh, and that was really funny idea on the whole " paint your XX silver thing " Unfortunately , silver is such a slow clour, that when you push down on the spray nossel, the paint just runs down the side of the can a drips on the ground.....and thats fine if you want your grass to look like a futuristic space house from 1981.....in a movie shot back in 1948, but it really won't help anything go faster......ever
So yes, Logogirl, although it is nice to have a little fresh blood in this tread, we still need some of you folks to stop " cowing" at all the fast colours and get on board with us for the betterment of the whole XX community.
Try it, you will like it, sure it is a little scarey, but just like your first Slow clour and gay XX meet, in no time at all it all will seem perfectly normal to you
Lois

| You're confusing painting and bedtime with the missus. Stop wearing the silver condoms and things will slow down to the point where you'll actually get to the target before spilling your load. Quote:

| Scarey is right. Not sure I could get used to balancing a bike that can barely wheeze itself into double digits. At least the color of the bike would match the red glow of shame on my face.
Best thing you red XX owners can do is fit a siren and some ladder racks to your bikes and join the volunteer fire department. When you hit the siren, you'll finally get your first chance to pass a Prius. Boy, won't that be exciting.

Dudes... when you bring your non BLACKbirds in for the recall the fix is to paint them black.
Red lights.. red stop signs. The riders of TRUE BLACKbirds can't be bothered with such things. We go so fast that we don't even take notice. All this talk of silver shuttle and red blast offs... Nothing compared to WARP drive.

Black.......you know, every time I see a black XX, it appears to me that it is just a tar strip sitting stationary on the road....but then I notice the rider on it and realize that it's a motorcycle.

Lois... I can understand your confusion. Let me see if I can help with that. You see the only time you would see a rider of a TRUE BLACKbird is when they are stopped and shutting it off to get off (possibly to wait for the riders of the slower colors at the pub where we would help you guys cool off from all of that pushing you've just done and we'd buy you a cold one) or just prior to them starting it up and jumping to Warp where you wouldn't be able to possibly see them again on a bike of your color no matter how high that mountain or hill is that you are starting from. I'm still waiting for that crayon stick drawing you were going to do for me. You know the one with all of the hills. I figure it would look a lot like a real big roller coaster with the hills getting smaller and smaller near the end. Looking forward to it so that I can see if your artistic skills rival your ability to pick a bike of a color that will actually move on its own.
The Rollingstones made a song up about the recall by the way. Song came out in the 60's so they must have been able to see into the future. Probably because they were on black bikes and went to warp and feel into a black hole that pushed them into the future. Once there it was clear to them what needed to be done. You might recall the song.
I see a red Bike and I want to paint it BLACK. No colors anymore I want them to be BLACK. I see a BLACKbird go by in a blinding BLUR. (just before it jumped to warp by the way)
I want to see you Paint it, Paint it BLACK! Black as .... Well you get the picture. Even Mick and the boys want to see you guys Paint it black.
Take it in for the recall my friend. The chip will take care of the rest and then you can help me buy beers for the riders of other colors when they roll up to the pub exhausted from pushing their bikes there after the hills have run out.
You know that makes me think of something. Since I live in flatland country it might not have ever dawned on me before. I guess its possible for those of you who ride bikes that are not black and live in hilly terrian to actually rack up a few miles before you run out of hills and momentum. Seems to work for Fasterspider in the video that he posted. I guess its possible that if the hills roll right you might be able to make it all the way back home from the momentum just like a roller coaster and not have to push it. Well I'm looking forward to your crayon drawing so I can get a better picture of this.
Rollercoaster of love... Say what. Rollercoaster ...a WHO WHO WHO...
Now I know all of you will have those two songs stuck in your head all day as a constant reminder to bring it in for the recall.
Paint it Black my friends. Then you won't have to rely on the Rollercoaster.

Strek. I think you have been on one to many roller coasters after taking some of the Rolling Stones " after concert Happy pills ". We of the Red Brigade do not need such " medications " to fullfill our fantasies because riding a Red Bird is one hell of a trip and gives us all the " Satisfaction " that one needs. I sincerely hope that one day you can find help for your addiction and that you will see the real world. The one where Red is the true and rightfull king of speed. My God that sounds sexy, dont it? Remember Strek. Stay off the chems. Red Rules, on the flat and the hills. |

I have figured it out...
Once again with a little research I find that:
Red Bird owners have spent a ton of money upgrading their XX while the BlackBird owners have spent very little.
Blackbird owners just maintain their ride... not upgrade it.
Red Bird owners upgrade their bike to make it faster.
Blue and Silver and other colors do as well.
BlackBird owners simply ride and while riding the other bird owners have to "upgrade" their bikes, which brings on a new question which is... How much do the non-Blackbird owners actually ride their bikes?
Seems to me that if you spend a bunch of money to make your bike faster then the bike is not fast enough to begin with and if you just maintain your bike(blackbird owners) then you are quite satisfied with the speed you are currently acheiving.
so back to the original question... Does color affect speed...
Sounds to me like it does. Sounds to me by the facts on the forum that non-blackbird owners spend a lot of money to try to make the bird faster in order to keep up with the blackbird owners.
Think about it...

Graham's honesty is refreshing coming from the owner of a clour. What a stand up guy! You other clour's take note!
Thanxx for debunking yet another flawed theory.
Like my speedy little arachnoid friend says: Ride Red, --oh, you know the rest.

Well I am not so sure that Graham is a blackbird owner... after all he must love red, silver, or some other color to take his bike and try to make a new bird all by himself.
I would love to see honda do it but they neglect our need. I understand the need for "look what I did mom...." but I know I don't need to upgrade my bird... after all she is the fastest of all the "stock" birds.

I want to see you Paint it, Paint it BLACK! Black as .... Well you get the picture. Even Mick and the boys want to see you guys Paint it black. | Since the Stones probably recorded that song before you were born, I'll give you some background on it as told to me by Mick himself at the Some Girls concert in Cleveland, OH back in 1978.
Mick said the song came about because years of drug abuse had made Keith's eyes very sensitive to light and he was very bothered by the sun glinting off of Charlie's fast and ferocious-sounding silver Bonnie. One day he could take it no more and shouted, "Paint it black! Paint it black!" Well, Charlie did. And you know what? The Bonnie ran no more. An elderly gentlemen from Leeds eventually bought it to help plug a leak in his cellar. Sad. Quote:

We silver XX owners understand your "look what I did mom" impulses. Swapping the stocker for that child's potty seat is the right thing to do. If you can't go fast, at least you can go easy.

Graham.... Yes but you are doing your project by choice. It is a passion and something you enjoy. If it was a TRUE BLACKbird it was faster then the other colors to start with. Wigo is still correct.

PH005 if riding your little red bike gives you red bird riders all the SATIFACTION that you need then that is cool by us riders of the TRUE BLACKbirds. It just means that for the riders of TRUE BLACKbirds that there are more women for us to ride while you are out in the hills with your favorite ride. I want to thank you for that as I would much rather ride my girl then my bike. Of course being that I have a TRUE BLACKbird and can arrive at destinations much faster then riders of other colors I have more time available for my favorite ride and get to spend much more time doing that then riders of other colors would have available to them anyways. Another good reason to Paint it Black my friend. In the meantime go right ahead and have all the fun and SATISFACTION that you can from pushing your red bike to that next hill. I'll be spending the time on my favorite ride.
