I dont think your understanding the whole "BLACK"bird concept.... its not called a redbird or a bluebird or a sliverbird....and if you read the start of the post youll see that the black one is the fastest one, I know that hurts you guys with your pretty colors but thats why they look pretty, there making up for the fact that there slower.

Red is fastest, ask anyone with any common sense and they will tell you the same thing, red rules. | The only problem with common sense is that it has to be common, and 400+ posts proves there is nothing common here, and sense, which you pink guys have proven on multiple occassions you do not have.

I might have given you a poofteenth more respect if you owned a satin black bird, but since you dont, then

Ohhhhhhh I'm sorry, does someone around here think that they are in England, cause thats where the term " Super Black Bird " was started, not here on this continent, and certainly not by the makers of the bike.
Here in Canada, we may say BB, but it is understood that what we mean is CBR.
So I hate to be the one that has to break it to you, but the term "Super black bird" means nothing.....nothing at all, sorry, I do feel bad for you and your friends though.
Now, I do however, have some black birds living out at my farm, I mean they are OK, but I wouldn't call them super or anything.....just birds that are black.
Speaking of sorry, since your on the whole Black Bird thing, what exactly does the " super " mean. Is it like super man, or super Dave. Or do you invision your bike wearing a cape while it streaks toward the paint shop....to get it's red paint fix?
Don't be mad at me, I am only here to try and help you ,and others like you.
P.S If you are having problems reading this and your parents are not at home right now, go look at post #410, that may help straighten this out for you.
Peace/Love/Out
Lou

Sorry Lou,
but out here in the real world, Honda did badge the only birds that matter (what bird is that I hear you ask??? Well it could only be a 2007 Iron Nail Grey, the one with the 3D badges that say CBR 1100 XX SUPER BLACKBIRD on the fairings and tank) with the super blackbird logo's.

My mumies and daddies are very boring people, so I dont ask them to read to me anymore - I'm a bit too old to have Dr Suess read to me, even though green eggs and ham is kinda catchy.
P.S. what word rhymes with "Australia"????

I don't know...........I was hoping that a slow poke like yourself could at least enlighten me on just one simple little thing ....
but then again, the word orange has the same problem.
But at least RED is still faster, and, has tons of words that ryhme with it like;
winner
faster
the best color ever
tomato
#1 on race day
and....
Labrador Retriever
So there.....

Maybe I should paint my bird dark pink to match my slow poke status.

Ah ha, Good to see that you admit to riding a pink bike - whether it is dark or light, it is still pink.

Nice try ace, I haven't admitted to anything of the sort....what I am saying is that YOU painting your XX pink would be a good start toward ending up with a RED bird.......jezz louise...
Try this;
what sounds better...
Black blur.....nope, sounds stupid....just like the color
blue blur.......sounds wrong...really wrong
silver blur..... nope, reminds me of clouds, you know, with silver linings
colors of which
we do no speak blur......give me a break, stupid-dumb-stupid
RED BLUR....now thats sounds correct/fast/don't you wish you had one.

My 2007 Iron Nail Greybird is faster than my electricity frazzled brain can try to keep up with. I am the first one to admit that, but I will never cross over to the other side. How does that old (slightly modified) saying go "Once you red (or any faded derivitive like PINK) you dont go back". I'll have to pass on that one. You may keep your colour to yourself.

OLG, that is a very plausible explanation.
Except for 2 little things.
(1) My bird isnt just grey, it's Iron Nail Grey. It's those titanium birds that are faded black thingummies.
(2) Despite popular belief (from the USA and surrounding areas) the big H did not cease production in 2003. They made the bestest and fastest birds in the following 4 years.

a little physics needed in this argument...
Light as we know is made up from different colors. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, And Violet. All colors travel together in light.
You can use a prism (dark side of the moon album cover) to separate the light and see different colors. we call this refraction of light or more commonly, colors of spectrum...
Snells law describes refraction. According to it, the angle of incidence is related to the angle of refraction with a sine.
According to this smallest index of refraction is in red and highest in blue.
The speed of light, or velocity, equals speed of light in vacuum (lets call it S) divided by index of refraction (lets call it n)
so
V = S / n
now we know for a fact that red color has the smallest "n". around 1.370.
SOOOO
speed of light is = 299792km/sec
get your calc out,
velocity of red = 299792/ 1.370 = 218826km/s
So we can say for a FACT that red color has higher velocity and the velocity of color decreases towards blue color.
This is strictly about a color traveling in light. Black means no light.
now back to our question, Black is in stand still while other colors are travveling near 186,000 miles/sec being RED the fastest.
This makes red birds by "rules of physics" the fastest of colors and answer to How come bike color affect its top speed ?
Any more Q's ???

Until you get to two tone bikes - which act as a multiplier to your equation. eg (V=S/n)*n. So if I guesstimate that grey will have a n value of around 2.0, then the equation will be (V=299792/2)*2 which equals 299,792 km/sec.
Hands up who wants to ban hob from this thread for being a smarty-pants.
