The only reason others couldnt get past you is not because you were so fast, but because red birds are just mobile road blocks.

The fact of the matter is the bike came out black because of who it was built after and all other colors are just for the confused people that should have bought a busa like everyone else in the world

This is the longest and sillyest thread ever. There's really nothing to discuss on this topic. BLACK birds are meant to be black, because it makes them faster, more powerful and a lot nicer to look at. Simple as THAT!
Almost 400 replies so far..

you said it.... How can you call your bike a blackbird if it isnt black, I think you should start calling it a bluebird, redbird or graybird. lol

OK black brigade, just saying I believe you when you say black is fastest (which I dont, not for a second), which black is fastest and why - Metallic, Gloss, Satin or Flat.
To the rest of us with real coloured birds (oh, and the red ones too), we can sit back and watch the black brigade self destuct with this new futile twist

Well, we might have different views on what type of black is the most appealing one, but we also acknowledge the fact that BLACK is FASTEST, no matter how much or how little gloss and metallic you have.
So much for self destruction, huh..

Yes, but which black is fastest. None of this namby-pamby, unity, all black birds are appealing crap - which is it, gloss, metallic, satin or flat?

Ah, I thought I made that clear, but I see that it could easily be misinterprated. They all go just as fast. They all provide the same amount of power, and will all reach the same top speed. The differences (metallic, gloss, flat etc) only reflect the owners preferences as far as appearance goes..
I actually have a car color on mine. BMW Diamant Scwartz Metallik. But I like the OEM Honda colors as well. I saw one that was resprayed with a really flat black, no gloss whatsoever. Looked really nice actually

Thats OK, I was just trying to keep this interesting, since the only argument the red (or was that dark pink) boys can come up with is "red is fastest, end of story".
I must admit that I thought it might be fun to see a flat and a satin owner get into a fight over the merits of different types of black.

Nutter, I think you're onto something here. Gloss has got to be faster because it is smoother - less wind drag.
If colour does make a difference then it is only logical that a silver, gold or any other fleck will make a difference.
What do the colour fanatics say about the actual percentage speed difference of their favourite colour bird? And what is the actual order of colour speed.
It seems after 14 pages of over 400 posts we are pretty close to a definite ruling on this issue. I think after another 4000 posts we may be able to start formulating a conclusion! This is going to be a very exciting scientific discovery! This will have implications and practical applications in all sectors of society.
Police will know what colour to paint their pursuit cars!
The space shuttle can be repainted so it's speed can be increased.
Jets will have a colour overhaul.
In fact, everything that needs to be fast will be painted blue - and I will have to repaint my bike green so it is not a target. Everything blue will be a weapon target in war zones! And the police will be chasing everything blue.
Life will be so simple when this is concluded!

But wouldnt flat black absorb more energy from the sun, thus making it faster and more powerful.

Anyway, who cares about black. Dont our bikes get hot enough already?
That should fire the geeks up with explanations of why I am wrong.

| I think the gloss idea has something going.... also, how much paint are you talking about with a custom job? I mean, if you have more coats, that making the bird that much heavier... and thats more mass creating more drag.... whew, we could go on forever.... how many more til the next 400 is reached? |

Wow....something occurred to me today. I think what we have here is a failure to communicate. What I mean by that is, I have a sneaking suspicion that some of you folks can not read or write in English.
I apologize from the bottom of my heart for all of the confusion that this has caused you. I should have realized this was taking place when I noticed that some of your posts made no sense, and after being presented with the facts, you simple went on talking gibberish about your own colors.
Had I have know this earlier, we could have avoided a lot of pain and suffering on your part. I won't mention any names, but you know who you are. ( I'll give you a hint, it ryhmes with Australia)
Now,If you had of just had your mommy's or daddy's read the posts to you , we could have nipped this thing in the bud a long long time ago. But you didn't, so here we are now.
But in the interest of getting thru to you, I will try to make this as easy to understand for you, as I can.....ready ?
Blue =
Silver =
Black =
colors of which
we do not speak = RED = :wooh oo:
Does this help ?

Blue is a pretty color. blue like the sky....pink hearts, yellow moons, orange stars, green clovers...and blue diamonds. Oh yeah, and purple horseshoes.
