A guy sent me this short video he took off his Bird last year at Texas World Speedway. That's my old 99 Bird going by. Dam that's fun.

That is pretty cool! I just love it when ya come out of one corner, don't straighten up and then into the next! Just a nice fuzzy feeling!

You can see in the vid I wasn't hanging off as much as I should. That's because I was exhausted, I was dragging the pegs real hard and during this session ground some metal off the alternator housing.

Despite the wide engine case, when set up right, the bird is surprisingly competent on a track, but is a lot of work horsing through the tighter turns.

Texas World Speedway has a 1/2 mile straight followed by a series of high speed sweepers and some tight turns like in the vid to slow you down before entering the straight. The trick is to set up the last turn for max entry speed onto the straight, get up high on the bank, tuck in as much as possible, focus on shifting at optimum rpm and surprise some folks on that long straight.

Been a couple of years since I did a track day and that makes me want to get out the SV650, put some sticky tires on it and take it out for some practice. Thanks.
