As one of BB lovers i would like to know how its community think of it.
Simply you love the BB and still keeping it despite there are new bikes like new busa or zx14 ? why the other bikes don't take the BB off your heart ? |

It was $6000.00 AUD cheaper then the FJR1300 !!!!! ........................... It was a very close call between the two for my commuting purposes.
............... And because of Honda build quality

There are very few bike in the Blackbird's category. The Busa, the ZX-12/ZX-14, the BMW K1200S... really, that's about it.
Of these, most are faster, with better, more modern components.
There are one or two with equal or more comfortable ergos.
Only one has approached matching the XX's reliability.... the later model year Busas.
Only the ZX-14 can match the Blackbird's almost vibe-free engine smoothness.
So putting it all together, there is not a SINGLE BIKE on the planet that has the combination of ALL these things to the degree the Blackbird does. NONE.
The Hayabusa is faster, but no where near as comfortable.
The ZX-14 is faster, and about the same comfort, but is less reliable.
The K1200S is a BMW.... 'nuff said.
I have a '03 FJR, '08 Busa, and '02 XX. If the government held a gun against my head today and said I must pick one bike over the others, can you guess which bike would remain? |

I am not a true sports/hyper bike rider. I'm not built for that - too fat...
Tried sitting on the bird, went over and sat on a ZZR1200 and went straight back to the bird and bought it - without even going for a test ride.

I love my Bird for the reliability, comfort, and style. No longer the speed king but she will spank most other bikes still to this day but for me my Bird has it all and can do it all. Plus it's a Honda and they do make the best damn Jap bike out there!
By the way Nutter, How fat are you anyways???

Me, it was love at first sight....The first time I laid eyes on one, was by my work, I said what's that???? Nice bike! Looks comfortable too! (mean while I had no idea what it was or what it could do ...."till I got it!) when I took it for a ride , I quickly realised its amazing potential. I was in for a treat!

Almost exact same story as charles, 'ceptin I AIN'T RODE IT YET! Before actually seeing one, read all of the rave reviews then went and sat on one. Seems to have the versatility I was lookin for.

It was almost love in first sight for me...though I have always liked how Honda's sport bikes look a like. The XX is just the only Honda that is big enough for me...I'm over 190 cm tall.
I was looking BMW K1200S for a while too but ended to my bike with good resellers offer.

My blackbird looks good, feels good, is good!
Looks are the first attractor, mine is blue and I was trading in a red bike specifically for a blue bike. It's curves are sweet and it's lines are serious.
Then comes the feel - silk MMmmhhh. My first test ride was like a dream. My next ride was a dream too ...
Finally good comes from the heart and the blackbird is all heart. It is a subtly powerful ride. It will give you all you need.
I don't think it is perfect but it's close enough for me.
Have fun

I had my first ride today. My last bike (1984 v65 Sabre) compared to the 'bird? '69 Roadrunner vs. Turbo Carerra. Holy crap these things are smooth! My only problem is that the toes of my boots are too thick, and
i had to upshift with the edge of the sole..........

For me it is as follows....
Performance - it has 50% more power than I will ever need.
Handling - It's got more grip than I got guts
Comfort - I too am a portly gentleman
Looks - It looks horn without being at the cutting edge of design
Price - Unbelievable value compared to the other bikes that I would have looked at
Quality - It is a Honda, need I say more.
I have also lusted after one ever since the morphing eagle ads circa 98

During our documentary shoot on the PCH I tried mounting both still digital and motion digital cameras on the other rides accompanying us. Not one of those platforms proved smooth enough to keep vibration from distorting the shot, even at 1/125 of a second. The 'Bird's counterbalancing, it's mind-reading tracking, it's forgiving braking system, it's balls-out, g-force inducing, leave-reality-behind in a flash acceleration along with its round-town grocery getting manners... couldn't ask for a better ride.

For me, It was a search for the ultimate honda...
back in '01 i seen a honda ad for a "new" cbx, it was a 1600, but it wasn't even a concept, it was a drawing...
when I looked at what honda had to offer that year, I saw the red xx...
wanted one ever since...
