I picked these up from a board member who can come forward if they wish.

The bike they came off of was running the Genmar risers AND the VFR clipons. I installed it that way at first (grinding the stops for the brake and clutch lines so that they can be rotated a bit to take out some of the strain), but it still seemed like too much of a stretch for my taste. I'm not sure if the original bike was using stock lines or not.

So, I ended up just using the VFR clipons, which will still be an improvement.

Here are a couple of pictures from when I had both installed. On the second picture, the left side is stock XX position, and the right side is with the Genmar riser and the VFR clipon. Quite a difference.

I've got the VFR bars raised 1" off the top yoke.

I had to change the anchor for the stock clutch cable at the gooseneck besides grinding off the tabs.

Conq,

I have my VFR Bars on top of Genmars too. I did buy longer brake and clutch lines. I went 2.5" longer, but that is too long. I think 1-1.5" would be enough.

My bike has the stock bars, but recently I rode a friend's XX fitted with the Genmar risers and I was surprised at how just 3/4"-1" in bar height can improve the ergonomics so much. I'm 6'-1", and felt it wasn't such an extreme "stretch" to the bars fitted with Genmars. I like the fact that no modifications are necessary and the installation is pretty much "idiot-proof", which is good for "mechanically challenged" people like myself.

Well, today was the first ride with the VFR bars and I have to say that I'm glad I didn't use the risers with them. It seems like a completely different bike with just the VFR bars. I think I'd be scared to ride it with that much height added to the bars.
