As for tires, I would go with the Stradas. I am on my second one on the rear---better than the Z6 in my opinion and last at least 30% longer--last Strada went 7000 miles +. As I recall, I haven't had any other tire last that long. Pilot road was 6K+ but I like the turn in of the Strada better even if they got the same mileage. They stick real well too.

I would recommend against the throttle meister. I have had one for the last couple of years and while it looks good and seems to be a nice piece of engineering, I have found it not to be very reliable. It is very difficult to get installed just right, and then it tends to slip, and gets worse over time. I found a better product, although they are a bit more expensive than the throttlemeister, they work a lot better. Make sure you dont still have the original RR on ya Bird. You'de hate to be stuck with a fried one in the middle of nowhere. Have a great time.

cable ties and WD40.
If the part moves and it should not then use cable ties.
If it does not move and it should use the WD40. |

The trip is complete. Pictures... you would have to open my brain and take a
look. I never have been much for cameras...I leave that duty to others.
Maps... took exactly 12 road changes from Western New York to Northern
California to get from my house to girlfriend's home. Interstate 80/90 took
me all the way from my home town to Reno, Nevada. A little jogging did
the rest. The way back was a bit more interesting. I visited the Pacific
Ocean and headed for Eugene, Oregon. From there until Missoula, Montana
I followed the same roads that I used thirty years ago on a cross country
bicycle trip. Oregon is one of my favorite states in the Union! US route 26 is
a must! Decided to leave Canada for my next trip out west as I stayed in
the states.
Thankfully, no close calls, motorcycle failures, dumb ass drivers (either them
or me) created any incidents. That's about all to tell on this brief review.

Congrats. Highway #2? When you ride to Canada, go through the States till Montana, Glacier National then cut North. Roads through the Canadian National Parks are wonderful. I can give you many a hint as I've ridden the roads every year for the last eight, BC roads are brilliant.

Hey... we need to talk. I love the west!! Once again, traveling anywhere
that's different from your daily haunts always looks intriguing. It is a must
for me to get back to Montana. I have been meaning to get to Glacier
National Park since my '04 three week trip that went all over the west, but
passed on Glacier National Park because we were informed that road work
was taking place. If I stay employed and can still grab enough time next
year... I will be out there.

Just PM me when you're ready, I can recomment beautiful BC/Alberta,Wash, roads. For two months every summer I tour the Pacific NorthWest. Which is why I have 130,000 kms in six years on my Bird, no winter riding. Note, www.destinationhighways.ca also for Washington, California. Cheers.
