I am based in Montreal, I like to extend my range and my season.
unfortunately it seems they are not necessarily compatible.
I have a choice to make and could use your input.
I can put on either heated grips (hot grips)
this will make my riding more comfortable during the cool mornings and evenings, and when it is cold, I ride as long as there is no salt and ice on the road.

or a vista or throttlemeister cruise control which will give my right hand a break.

I dont think I can have both, for sure I cannot use the throttle meister with the heated grips. I am not sure about the vista.

I would get the throttle rocker if I get the heated grips that is not a problem.

your input would be greatly appreciated.

You can have both with little if any work. I have mounted the Oxford "hot grip" kit and a Vista-Cruise to mine with only a little bike crafting to make it happen in a way that I'm pleased with. Couple of links follow that may help. I have also tried the Throttle Rocker in conjunction with the Oxford Hot Grips, and there are no issues with the Rocker use with the slightly larger diameter of the Oxford replacement heated grips. I like the slightly larger grip diameter also that the Oxford afford me. Anyway...here's hoping these links help you,...you can have both worlds.

Heated Grips + Cruise Control ?

Hot Grip: Controller mount.

I bought the throttlemiesters a few months back because my hand and wrist was killing me after a few hours on the highway. I swear, these things are AWESOME!! I thought the price was a little high when I ordered them but once I saw the quality of these things I was amazed! They look great and work even better! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Put some gloves on!

It is more than gloves.
(I wish it was only that)
I have a great pair of gloves with liners and all but they are very thick.

and even with good gloves it is cold no question.

the heated grips give you the option of not wearing such thick gloves and still feeling comfortable.

if the heated grip install is pretty straightforward then I will attempt it.
I purchased the "hotgrips" regular.

As I explained in another thread I am techoness level 1.
I would not do any crafting to the bike.
I also am keeping the stock handlebars.

Thank you for all the posts, it seems like a bit more work but the cruise control installed in the engine seems like the safest way with the grips.

for sure the easiest is the throttlemeister, I have some friends who also swear by them.

I will keep you informed

Here's a link to the instructions for installing Dual Star heated grips with a Vista Cruise. Installing Heated Grips on the FJR1300

Ignore the fact that the installation is on a FJR1300 since I used the same instructions for installing the Dual Stars on my CBR1100XX.

I also have a Throttlemeister.

Bottom line... the heated grips will work with a Vista Cruise, NEP, Throttlemeister or anything else that you want to buy and install.

Enjoy the heat

I asked the same question a while back. I was unable to use the univeral vista cruise with my Oxford grips.
Heated Grips + Cruise Control ?

I've read that people have gotten them to work, I haven't gotten around to buying a throttlemeister yet (they are proud of those things).

If you get them all installed let us know how it goes.

I have suggestion for you for the oxford grips.
the end of the grip is larger than the center of the grip.
maybe try the caterpiller O ring 8449 I think.
this may work as an easy and cheap form of cruise control.
does not work on the stock grips (I tried :-( but may work on aftermarket or oxfords.
