I found this and I can believe that a Kawasaki is better than a Honda!! What is your opinion about this? Do you know some site about this issues?

sounds like a very personal opinion based review, everyone is different. I'm sure that some people might like the ZZR better but I'm certainly not going to trade in my XX on one

I'm not shocked. The blackbird was designed in 1996 and is basically unchanged. Technology moves on, Honda doesn't. However, Honda designed a classic and it will always be one.

I grew up on a kawasaki, so Kawasaki will always been a great bike to me.. But I have riden the Blackbird all summer, and I have riden the Ninja 1200 and the ZZR1200, both great bikes, but I find the BB a better handling bike in the canyons, and top speed doesn't do much in a canyon.. And I love the look of the Ninja 1200, but the ZZR1200 is just ugly, just as ugly as the 1100 Ninja.. But it's just people's opinions

I don't know so much if the K12S will beat everything out here.
I own one, actually had to sell the XX due to miles, and couldn't find another XX at the time.

Not a bad bike at all, but nothing better than the XX I had. Slightly more top-end, a lot better handeling - is new tech on suspension, but I can't do anything better or worse than what the XX could.

Regarding the ZZR1200 - there has been a couple of these with the same old oil starvation problem as what the ZZR1100 experienced. Plus these are all Carbed units here in South Africa. No FI.

I ride frequently with a ZZR and can say that the xx is lacking midrange by comparisson. Up top, the ZZR hits a wall while the xx keeps pulling. I'm convinced this is consistant simply because i've run two different ZZR's on a regular basis.
IMO, it's a pretty big difference too; the XX wins up top and the ZZR wins down low.

The ZZR is pretty ancient, IMO. Brakes, suspension and those big 'ole things with the holes in them; I think they call them Carbs?

Wow....how many of us spend a lot of time over the 160 MPH mark? because as we all know, that is a very important thing to consider when buying a bike.....

However

When I buy a bike I see how I fit on it. Price. how dependable it is. color options. any major trouble spots etc

As for the top speed....you'll notice I didn't include something on my list that only .02% of any of us would ever use on a day to day occurrence, or, base buying a bike on in the first place.

One of the things I like about Superbike unlike the American moto mags for the most part is they just tell as they see it. They call shit shit and if they think it's good then it's good.

If you're looking to a Honda forum as to the validity of a test on a Kawasaki I think we'd poke holes in it all day long.

I think when it comes to 1100+cc bikes it comes down to what you like in styling. I think Honda has done something with the XX that will not be duplicated anytime soon in building a bike that lasted a decade. I dont think you'll ever see that again in the motorcycle world from a performance line (maybe busa).

It's kinda like saying do you like apples or oranges better. It just depends on my mood.

I own a 2004 ZZR1200 and a 2002XX. IMO, the XX is a much better all around bike. The 1200 has a motor that will simply pull like a freight train. No question about it, it has amazing low - mid grunt. Up top is maybe a little weaker than the XX, but not very noticeable. I have owned two ZZR's and have never had any reliability problems with them. It handles well for a pig, but I think the XX handles better for me. As well, you sit high on the ZZR as opposed to lower on the XX. The brakes are similar...nothing stellar, but functional.

However, where the main difference lies is the smoothness. Nothing I have ridden touches the XX. People say the ZZR has character and the XX can be boring. Whatever. After riding 100 miles, I don't want character. I want smooth as glass. The reach on the XX is not quite as far as the ZZR either. However, the wind protection on the ZZR is definitely better. You can't go wrong with either. Both are distinct, and you are most likely going to be the only one at "bike night" riding one. That's worth a bunch to me. In the spring, my ZZR will be for sale, though.

I think that both are long running succesful models, but when it comes to reliability, and fit and finish, there is only 1 word "HONDA"

I STILL own both..
Only reason I keep the XX is for the track.

there is a diff. between the bikes...
The K12S is what you would expect...
Then again you can get 2 XX's for the cost of 1 K12S.

I can believe it. While Kawasaki is junk compared to Honda in reliability, fit and finish they know how to make horsepower. I don't know why some of you refuse to believe the XX can be beaten. Hopefully not just because that is what you own. You know what they say...there is no replacement for displacemnt and the ZZR 1200 has a detuned ZX12 powerplant. Tha being said I love my carbed BB. I wouldn't trade it for a Kawi or a FI BB for anything.

BMW copied the Honda with the K12S. Enough said about that.

Nope, look at it for Pete sakes. It looks almost identical to a XX. The Beemer is obviously more updated technology wise but it is still a copy of the XX. At least Suzuki and Kawi went they're own direction with the styling cues.

I'm not talking about every fine detail man! Honda would've sued the pants off of BMW. However overall the Beemer looks very similar to the Honda. Lets see the overall shape of the headlight is the same (who cares how many bulbs are in there) No one looks at it and says oh there is three bulbs in there behind the lens. They just look at the shape of the lens, BMW put the blinkers in the rear view mirrors like Honda, and the seat is the same style seat with different angles.

Umm no..
I'll be back in a few..
I guess I need to take some pics...
Guess BMW, suzuki, and Aprillia stole the turn signals in the mirrors from Honda..
