| Say has anyone by chance have a service guide, you know what happens and when like lubes and filters etc. The guy that had the bike before me has kept up with the service but at 20,000ks Im not sure what’s next, any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ross. |

You should be able to buy a "owners manual" from Honda N.Z. or a Hanes manual also. I think 6,000 kms for oil depending on the climate and riding conditions. I'm sure someone will pipe in a web site. I suspect NZ climate is similar to BC climate especially in your neck of the woods. Hydrolics every two years is what I do, fork oil every two years, tires every year, valves every 24-26,000 kms. Here's the products I use, Motul coolant, Motul Semi Synth, Motorex 5.1 dot hydrolic fluid, Avon Storms at the moment, with the exception of my Pense Rear, everthing else with the exception of farkles, I've puchased off Jaws, www.superblackbird.co.uk At 20,000 kms your Bird should just be nicely broken in. Clean fluids on a regular basis and she'll ride "forever". 118,000 kms on my '02. cheers

I have an old '98 owners manual here, if you want it? It is for the carbed bird but pretty much nothing has changed when I compare it to my '07 one. minor service at 6,000km interval, major at 12,000km. 18,000km service is replace air filter and brake fluid, 24,000 is inspect everything and replace oil and filter. Manual specifies oil & filter replacement every 12,000km, but I think most people do oil every 6 & both every 12...
Oh, and before it was killed by cheesecutter, my '98 had 194,000km with only the usual problems for a BB. (R/R, stator, CCT and guides.)
Now I just got myself an '07 in June and I'm already over 9,000km!
