Could it be? I've been watching E-bay, Cycletrader, etc. It seems the going rate for a clean well-maintained XX is on the rise. Am I alone in noticing this trend?

Nope... The collector set has been kind of expecting this... It happens with significant models that were somewhat rare to begin with; and, it tends to get incrementally more intense as primo examples are bought up and taken off the market. |

It hasn't been much to get excited about, $500-$1000 tops. And I don't know if sellers are actually getting what they're asking. There's a 2000 with 30,000 miles for 5K, and a '99 with 45,000 sold for $5700 last week. Both mid-mileage bikes in nice condition. Another sportbike appreciating is the suprising Suzuki TL1000R, S.
