Hi everyone. Im new to this. I've never had a problem with the Bird (1999 XXX Fuel injected, 17,000 miles). Today I changed the battery cos the old one was flat, and after a couple of miles the FI red light came on (also the green key symbol light on the rev counter) and the engine cut very temporary then back on. This happened 3 or 4 times so i just came home. Any suggestions?

Did you do a bench charge on your new battery before installing..?

(1-1.5a for 12 hours or so... it's a 19a battery)

The symptoms you describe are typical of an under-charged, albeit new, battery.
