Always good to meet another XX owner and see his bike. Glad you caught me before we headed out. Thanks for posting the pics Contevita!

Riding home from Sunshine Coast the other night and spotted one strapped to a trailer... Saw another sad one (fairings damaged and very neglected) sitting at team moto, Some guy just sold it to them for 1000 bucks...Would of been a good project for that much. Now that I own one I see them all the time...funny that!

    Re: Official Sighting Thread

Kind of crazy here. There is one guy that lives on my road, about 2 miles away, that has two carbies. He is who actually introduced me to the bird, and led to me buying one. I have never seen him riding either of his, virtually nobody else I talk to around here has ever even heard of the XX, and I never see them anywhere.

However, yesterday I took the bike to a dental appt and was riding back on a route I normally do not ride, and what do I see in my rearview mirror? A (fastest color) black bird. He was riding in trail with me for about 3 miles, and then exited off the road. I'd have pulled off to talk with him but there was no way to do so.

    Re: Official Sighting Thread

Just never see them here either and not many recognize the Honda Blackbird but when they ask what you ride...if you say CBR1100xx they do react to the CBR (everyone seems to know what CBR stands for) and then again to the 1100. I have met a few older guys who go...oh yes...I know that bike!! I know what they sound like and heard a blue one start up in Banff right across the street from me....but he just started and drove off so didn't meet him.
I had the fun of riding with 2 BB's from Calgary last year...rode out to Cochrane and met them and then on into the mountains to Canmore...came back thru an Indian Reserve (dogs, horses, cows on the road at times)....low on fuel with dark settling in fast all twisty roads etc. I had the silver in front of me setting a tough speed to follow and the red in my mirror working to keep up. Fun ride and 2 good guys....
I'd sure do a BB ride this summer if guys were getting together.

Rode the Carbie 150 miles today and it was HOT. stopped at the watering hole for a beer (yes, one). Guy comes over, looks at my helmet, scans the lot of cruisers and says "you on that yamaha?". If looks could have killed him and his kids would be dead. Told him "I wouldn't be caught dead on a yamaha, it's a Blackbird". he just looked confused.

You think people don't recognize them in north america in their normal colors, try riding a blue one lol

There's a guy in town with a blue one. He isn't on this site and I've never had the chance to talk to him - I'm always in my truck when I see him on it, I so rarely ride the bike in town. Every time I'd do ride in town I get some bozo wanting to run me. Last week I had an old guy (probably in his 60s, lol) in a tweaked-out mid-70s 'vette pushing for it. He made a quick right turn at the next set of lights, you can probably figure out why without me saying.

Wednesday, yesterday, after the Wild Sky ride, Irishbandit and I were headed home West on Hwy 20 and spotted a Black one headed East just before the Rockport turnoff. He had a pack on back and looked to be headed over the pass. They're slowly multiplying over here in the NW.

I was at a store, had to throw my gear on and try to run him down. He turned off, didn't see him turn. Found behind the Mexican restaurant

    Re: Official Sighting Thread

Sat around a little bit, had a smoke and calmed the nerves from the days ride. The owner walks up. Of course being on a Honda he was a super nice guy, I admired his Bird that even Tony would approve of , he looked at my pitiful, dirty, scratched and rode hard Bird a little before we talked for a while. He'd never heard of the forum or the 6mm shim. Cool thing is, he's more local to my favorite roads than I am. Might have finally found another Bird to ride with.
