I have 2 bikes, my Blackbird (of course) and a CBR1000RR.
I've converted my CBR1000RR to MotoGP (reverse) shifting, but now I get confused when switching between the bikes.
Does anyone know of a MotoGP conversion available for the Blackbird?![]()
Thanks!

Yeah, I was always in the same boat. Just dealt with it, but it is a pain.
Maybe someone makes a reverse shift drum for the transmission.
Otherwise you'll likely have to install rearsets where you can reverse the linkage. Gilles makes some for the XX but you'll have to investigate whether you can reverse the linkage on the XX installation.
Thanks for the info Jack.![]()
Just went and looked at my Gilles setup. Looks to be pretty easy, just flip the lever on the gearbox over. Maybe a slight adjustment in the length of the rod.
Check into an RC-51 shifter. I know that taking the shifter off of the bird and putting it on an RC reverses the shifting so it should work the same the other way. The bird shifter goes directly forward to the spline and the RC goes backwards to a pivot then forward to the spline so swapping the shift lever should do it.
Hey, thanks for the info guys! I'll be able to get this sorted out one way or another now.![]()
You would have to install the RC rearsets inorder for it to work, which will not fit without alot of modification.
I ran GP shift on both the RC51's for years now and when I would ride the XX I would only mess up a couple times, usually within the first few stops then its back to normal and visaversa when going to the RC from the XX.
