I've never used one of these to press out the old master link rivets though, always ended up cutting the chain (you learn about the quality of materials that DID use when you've gotta cut you way through a link... Having been chain shopping, it seems you can get a new chain for £25 - I bet that'd last all of 100 miles!).

Have you ever used yours to press out the old rivets? Just a case of lining it up or have you gotta grind off the flared end first?
I just use a 4" angle grinder. Soon gets it off.

Re: What have you done to your bird lately?

I picked up Raven from the shop Sat. It was her first trip back there since she was purchased, but with 105677 miles on her I figured it was time to have the valves checked and the plugs changed and a trained technician look her over.
All valves were all in spec.
    4 new spark plugs
    Throttle bodies synced
    K&N air filter cleaned
HP4S and and new oil filter
    and a new battery
= a good bill of heath for the next 100000 miles and a little piece of mind.

I asked the tech how the old plugs looked (was she running too lean/rich) he said the fuel mix was great it was just time to change them. He did ask me if I had ever had the clutch rebuilt and I told him no i had never had any issues with it. He said he had ridden her and she was running great. Everyone at the shop seemed impressed at the mileage and that she was in such great shape.
I had about 1.5 hour ride back to the house and I spent the first half of that trip in the triple digits (such fun) until I stopped to fill her up. After that I figured I had better ride sensible before I end up with a speeding ticket or worse with the traffic.

    [QUOTE=ThisWayUp;483698]It's that time...
There goes my budget for a new helmet... Oh well, so long as the bike's running sweetly
Anyone ever used one of these?

80557 miles. Just installed new 530 chain and front and rear sprockets. Cleaned out the slave cylinder and clutch reservoir and refilled and flushed it all. Bled and ready to go. Took awhile to get the air out, gotta get a speed bleeder for the clutch.

I finished rebuilding the bird I bought last year 1997 converted to fi 2002 engine (new rings, hone, cam chain and tensioner plus a lot of other stuff) 1999 harness, ecm, throttle body, new fairings, upper frame and just so much poored into her. I'm glad to finally have it on the road.

Finally got around to taking the pictures and posting them.
Had to straight wire the indicators because they came set up for British bikes. No worries, it all works the way it was designed.
I ended up adding some small smoked flush mount LED indicators where the rear ones used to be to help people understand the intergraded tail light (I have had people say that couldn't tell what I was doing) & to fill the holes that have always bothered me a little.
Added the reflector tape to the bags to improve my visibility after dark, not that I'm out riding after dark much these days.
Yes that's the factory seat. I had the Corbin recovered last year and decided to just used the factory one for my short daily commutes to work and save the Corbin for those longer trips where I will be in the saddle longer than 30 minutes.
If I would have thought about it before I put the exhaust on I would have painted the mid-pipes black, but oh well if I ever decide to take them off for something else I may do it then.
The weather is nice today so I'm going to take the long way home.
    Cheers
