well i don't post alot of threads and i do answer a few but i was wondering what do you guys think about this. while i am sitting korea i figured that i go ahead and do this. my goal was to make my bird a street runner and a drag race sleeper. i will have 180 or more whp and a shit ton of tq. i hope i downloaded my work order right. i love my bird and i feel she can use a litte more get up and go. i know some of you will say go with spray its cheaper, or go with a turbo alot faster. well spray is like steroids to me good for a while then you need more are you whilt away. a turbo is good also thought about it but no not for this bike. my next bike my have a turbo on it, right now i think all motor is the best for me.

1300cc hmmm I thought the bores on the XX we getting close to tollerance at 1200cc...

At least thats what i think i remember that I read.....

That is true, 2mm overbore (1195cc) is about the most that the motor will take .......... but did you notice the change in crank throw (4mm)? That would increase the cc along with the 'custom rods'.

Nice list of mods there. Clutch?

hey duck my clutch will stay factory just a re-pack and spring change. talking to mr. fish i really don't need to replace the basket or install a lock-up set. my bird is more of a daily long trip rider, i do go to the track sometimes. mr. fish stated the factory clutch is good for up to 200 whp.

No I agree on the clutch, I've been running a 'std' clutch (just v strong springs) for the last couple of years with 200rw bhp and no issues.

TBH i couldnt read most of the list... But not that you mention it yes i can see that now.

hey scrappy it's total tear down and cleaning of parts to be shipped and replaced. then build up and tune thats what the 8 hours is for.

i figured someone would chime in about a turbo. turbo's are good but i just don't think i can achieve the sleeper look cause the turbo whine how ever small would give it away. the exhaust note will be deeper at idle but went i am in it at w.o.t. it shouldn't be too loud or way over the top.

hey tony you are probably not a novice when it comes to modifying a bike. this is just a complete re build of the engine to make it for me better in some cases. so 8 grand is a good price to take an old bird and make her fly again.

The only thing I found questionable is the $1500 to stroke the crank.I have a vague idea of whats involved but even if Elton's labour rate was $100/hr should it take 2 days to do it? I don't know,just seems like a lot,but EFR is known for that,he also is the only guy I've heard of advertising he can do it.
As for the 8 hrs-now thats impressive,any place I've worked at previously would charge more like 12 and if the wrong guy did it,it could take 20.
I assume EFR said it should make 180 hp when done? I agree it will have a massive jump in torque figures but with zero headwork I'm skeptical about that high of a number.Hope you make it though.
It will be a kick-ass sleeper-I love those bikes!


I stand corrected-the 6th line says something about head work and something...

Now it is grainy but the $ I see add up to $5840 before tax,they have $7360-tell me I'm missing something otherwise someone is ripping you off...
