I went on my first trip with Bags and it seems I streched my chain some. And so my question is do I have enough room to tighten her up one more time? Or is it a MUST to replace at the "Replace Chain" line.

OR, do I have the whole 1/2in or so in the "Replace Chain" Zone..


Whats the Best Practice?

Took it to get adjusted and they said my chain had a low spot and it couldnt be adjusted. So I had them throw on a new chain and it only went to dead center of the blue area. WTH???? Shouldnt it be in the "new Chain" area ??

you donīt have to worry too long when your chain is in itīs last breaths.
the longer the chain gets the more it eats your sprocket.
the last 5mm i order the new chain normally and i do have to install it within weeks.

didnīt they put on new sprockets too?

You kept the same sprockets didn't ya?
It will eat through your chain quicker too...

That's a decent chain at a decent price man!
You should get much much more than 10k out of it! Just keep it clean and lubed..
Come to think of it, have you ever considered a scott/pro-oiler?

You may find you have an 18tooth front sprocket. This is a common change to correct the speedo and drop the revs a little.

My chains never seem to stretch much. I would worry more about both sides being even in length.

try it with +6000rpm

Hey guys looking for advice. Went to adjust my chain yesterday. As I rotated the wheel the slack on the chain varied from loose at one point to tight on another. The manual suggested a possible seized link .. but I gave the chain a good cleaning and lube as well. Is something possibly out of round ?

Your chain is partial worn. Rust, grinded by dirt, whatever... replace it.
