And besides, I have the perfect paintjob already. If I scratch it, I go out with a little 400 grit and then repray the damaged section. Whala, perfect again! |

Actually I have the paint job on my helmet now..works great easy to touch up and if I repainted my bike I think I could handle doing it myself..I just would need help shaking all the cans....

I've seen your wrist action in person, you could handle the can shaking all by yourself! |

A lot of farkles, and also some mods to improve handling and riding position. Waaay too much money (my wife would kill me if she ever found out)..!
Lets see here.. Autocom, Garmin Zumo GPS, Blinder laser jammers, DAB radio, digital voltmeter, gearindicator, shiftlight, temperature display, waterproof mp3-player, pulsating brake light, heated grips..
And then of course bar risers from Jaws, Clear alternative with LEDs front and back, tinted windscreen (OEM shape), Pyramid carbon hugger, undertray, new paintjob with custom decals, 3xGivi with SW Motech rack..
Probably forgot half of it, but you get the idea..

You actually care what the temp is. Either it's hot, warm, cool, cold, wet, snowy, foggy, dry. What about performance and suspension??

I just got mine last week so other than $60 for the shop manual and $125 for an extra mount for the Zumo 550, not much. Oh wait, I also ordered some stuff from John's bike bits and peg lowering brackets from Dave so I guess I need to add to that. It already has a couple of nice add-ons so at least I won't be spending for a new exhaust or seat. I'll need to put a couple new tires on this winter. Winter is when I spend the most on the scoots since I can't ride them as much. Here's the stable so far:

I do care what the ambient temperature is, because it gives an indication of the tyre temperature during summer season, and it warns me if temperature drops below 5 degrees C (could get slippery) during early spring/late fall. So basicly, the temp gauge gives me an idea of just how far I can push her through corners - of course I care!
As for performance, I'm using Öhlins front and Hyperpro rear (with a 6mm spacer on the shock). I'm sticking with Pilot Power 2CT for now, and the engine has naturally been tuned to optimum performance (K&N air filter, open slip-on cans and larger jets)..

This poll doesn't have an adequate scale to represent what I have spent..
Let's see, I could have built a new garage or a small addition onto the house. But they don't offer the g's that my bird does.

Well, I did start with a car kit and frame, Everything else came from Ebay and friends. The list includes a lot of spares. I am no where near done.
Probably $20,000 and 2000 hours but that is just a guess, at the labor. Not including design.I spent a year thinking and looking and planing. Mostly at night when I should have been asleep.
Never regreted a second or a dollar. Over 7,000 miles this summer in three trips that I will never forget.
Hope to double that this summer.
I would and plan on doing it again.

two wheel vs. four wheel comparisons... center of gravity...cornering
ability... etc.

Well, that would take a while. Many pictures on the other site. It handles like it should. I can ride with most, and it corners as good maybe better than any bike I have rode. Better for me as I can trust it. I ain't young any more, so after many more years riding quads than bikes, seamed like the best thing for me. I have been to four meets and rode with the guys and girls, and keep up.
Agressive cornering requires body position simular to two wheel, off the side, and low, but, I brake later and get on the gas earlier. I am already leaned, in relation to the tires. Cg is low, but mine is already lower. Bout three inches. I am longer by 5 in the swing arm. 54 inches wide, 65 inches long wheel base.
I have a lower top speed because of the areo drag. Plenty for me.
Thanks for the interest.

Just basic stuff like new tires, chain, k&n air filter, oil changes, and cleaning supplies. Nothing major. The integraty of the bike is not, and never will be in question. Very sound motorcycle. Just wish honda continued to advance. Too bad they backed out.

Looks like it'll be about $1200. 350 for a new tank, probably 400-500 for upper cowl, and estimated 400 to get her tuned up, oiled, greased hoses drained, re-filled, and ready for her first ride. Nope. Haven't even ridden her yet! |

Originally Posted by AntXXG That's different, don't you have to cover the wheels - legal requirement in the UK no open wheel vehicles.. | No, no problems. Open wheels are common and not required to be covered. Many hot rods ore open. Bikes are really open wheel anyway. And it is a bike, titled and inspected as such. There is a limit on how many wheels a bike is sold as, three, but no limit on how many wheels it can be modified to. Many bikes have attachments that are esentally training wheels. Making them look like three wheels but, the standard rear wheel is still there. There is also a set-up that goes under the middle of the bike and is two more wheels. So far I have been in six states so far and never been stoped for anything just yet. Almost stoped once but he could not see my plate as I went by. He waved me on but I wanted to know why he had me lit up. My plate is not that easy to see. Unless you are behind me. Is where your rear tire would be. Mid way under the rear fender. I have modified the rear fender to make a big trunk by cutting the concave part into a convex cause I don't have a rear wheel, there. Makes a nice trunk under the smuggler for my Innovate lm1 afr and battery and led tail light programmer and PC2 programmer and terminal strip, and the list goes on forever.
Those who have seen it know. It is pretty uniqiue. In a lot of ways.
But, I would not have done another bike. This is the only bike that has all the things to make it what it is. Good looks, power, torque and dependability.
And I do have a regular cbrxx, well sort of. It has zx forks and wheels. Very nice ride. Have a hard time deciding which to ride.
