Carbed bikes are for men (bikers) and FI for girlies (auto everything!) |

Henry Ford once said about the manual gearbox. It is rather crude and lacks sophistication but will suffice until we can develope something better. I think the same applies to carburetors. We now have auto boxes and FI both of which in this day and age should be relatively trouble free Last edited by Poundstretcher; 12-08-2009 at 3:38 AM. |

You can have your manly carbs that get out of synch, run rough and have to be maintained, I bought a bike that is maintenance free. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Brian.

| Re: Carb or Injection???? free of the carb/fi debate (to which I side with fi) my point was that automatics have no business in sports vehicles, because the "sport" aspect is significantly removed. Do we not pride ourselves as motorcyclists based at least partially on the skills necessary to ride? And how we are separate from the others on the road? wheres the skill when all you have to do is give it throttle? I know im off topic, but y'know what? I dont care how much it costs, how much horsepower it has, what technologys in it, two wheels + a motor + an auto tranny = scooter plain n simple. Maybe im getting old.

Ya,it's like traction control in racing, takes away from rider skill.I prefer the days of violent 2 stroke powerbands and the rider controlling what was a difficult machine to control. Then again some things I'll keep.Like my air shifter on the drag bike.If everyone else foot shifted I would go back to it but you can't let the other guy have the unfair advantage in racing. The street is different.I would like the OPTION of the paddle shift, because I know its quicker, and I really like quicker bikes. But just sometimes. |

Poundy and I both have 99 models so an answer to this would be for one of us to have the bike dyno'ed and see what she pulls up at..
