How long have you been owning you bird?

It's has happened a year ago.On the 27th of october 2008 i purchased my bird. When i came home i googled Honda Super Blackbird, found this wonderful forum and registered on that day,so did Shewie happy anniversairy mate.I own quite a few bikes in the past but i've never loved one as much as i love my blackbird.I guess everybody here feels the same way for his(her) bike.Tell us folks, how long do you have your blackbird for?Do you still love it like when you had your first ride on it?

Re: How long have you been owning you bird?

I saddled up my Bird on May 4, 2002 and left to ride across the country to Toronto on July 2, 2002. 148,600 kms at the moment. Rode a Harley before the Bird. Did quite a bit of "market research". Test rode a VFR but felt I would outgrow it quickly. Toyed briefly with the thoughts of a Duc ST 4/abs but quickly changed my mind. Reason being school's out June 30, Duc dealer states, "You part is in Italy and won't arrive in Vancouver till the middle of September." No thanks. I still have the original brochure of the 900, VFR 800, St 1300, and the BlackBird. Saw the Bird in the showroom, sat on her, made an offer, ordered some Givi hard bags, a Corbin GFL, Two Bros tit slip ons, Heli Bars and left town as stated above. OH, I had the bike delivered to my home, didn't even test ride her.

Re: How long have you been owning you bird?

June 2008, and have added 25,000klms to her original 2 year old 351 klms in 16 months,
Did not even test ride it, I have always envied Honda's reliability, The Bird does not dissapoint me.
I dont commute on it, I just ride on weekends for fun,Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun, Shit, I got carried away there.
August 2008 I was looking for info on my Moped on the internet and found cbrxx, then I found out what sort of motor cycle it was, that I had bought for myself. The info on here for the bird is mind blowing, I am on a few sites, but cbrxx clearly is miles in front, and you get a few laughs as well, and the people are tops too,
Cheers,
Brian.

I never expected it to become such an addiction. This bike has captivated me far more than any other ride I have ever owned. I bought it without even hearing it run (although I did give it a VERY thorough looking over) from a dealer after many months of searching for a (wait for it) ST.

Re: How long have you been owning you bird?

I had a 600RR that felt like a pocket racer. Fun but 100miles was a long way.

I got a nearly new VFR but I could not take the VTEC and the insurance was just as much as a Blackbird.

Rode the Blackbird home and I knew this was a keeper. Not some toy bike, you don't see yourself coming and going down the highway. The looks are timeless, classic, and clean. The Blackbird looks better than most current bikes when most 1997 bikes look like they are ancient.

Re: How long have you been owning you bird?

Around 6 months. Drove 700 miles to North Carolina to pick her up. Put around 7K miles since then. Deff would not mind another 30 ponies, a suspension capable of being pushed a bit harder for a voluptous rider such as myself.lol Love the bike, and with the givis it holds as much stuff as my car trunk.lol It just really needs a better suspension. Guess I got a winter project for a day when it snows.

I always suspected that there was something really wrong with you....and now you have gone and confirmed it for me.

Re: How long have you been owning you bird?

Bob123etc. You can always rebuild your suspension and you'll have to anyway after 35-45,000 kms. Front and rear. More ponies = turbo, nos, supercharging. You should get 140-145 rwhp with tuning, pipes. Shouldn't you.

Re: How long have you been owning you bird?

I got my '03 in June of '05. The dealer had a dozen of them still in crates. I bet he wishes he still had a couple of them.

Re: How long have you been owning you bird?

I bought my '96 titanium in early '98 with about 2000K's on it, I saved her from a dirt floor shed with a holely tin roof and only two side walls. She had a flat battery, two flat tyres, a dead spider in the air cleaner box and she was covered in dust. She still wears the scars where she fell on Old Mates leg and snapped it, I guess she didn't like being treated poorly. She now shares a clean garage with some stable mates, gets regular services and even gets covered when not in use and now more than Ten years on and not as many K's on her as i'd like, she still surprises me how good she is, love it.

Re: How long have you been owning you bird?

How long i've owned it and how long I've been riding it are two different numbers, because I bought it totalled. I don't mean a scratch in the frame and a dent in the tank, I mean it was WRECKED.
