fs 1997 many good parts

My 1997 with 16000 miles will be for sale in the next few weeks. I was run off the road by a young girl on the phone collapsed my lungs and broke several ribs my bike went down on the left side and damaged front cowl left side panel the left mirror is gone and the stator cover is scraped(not broken). Her insurance has totalled it out and now I'm hoping someone here will be able to salvage the usable. The only parts I know to be bad are the ones I've listed every thing else "appears" fine. I am not in physical condition to inspect bike further but friends have ridden the bike and said it rides and runs fine. What I do know is it was in need of front tire 25% tread left the rear was just replaced(battleaxe) it also had an exhaust pop noise only time to time always thought bike ran rich as culprit only on deacceleration from higher rpm. I have other performance bikes which will be for sale in future(not yet).this bike was very well mainained and garaged used only nice days(hence the low miles)I have to wait for insurance to release bike to sell like I said but am trying to line up buyers. Would love to sell whole for 1500.00 but if offers are unreasonable I will part out. Bike is a low vin 1300. I know you all will say rebuild your bike or just ride as is(definetly doable)but I have 3 kids and being dad is more important than the fun of the bike.Bike is in cincinnati ohio

Sorry to hear of your crash. Could you post any photos so we could get an idea what we will be up against. If I only didn't already have three bikes and two cars and more projects than you can count. I get it sight unseen. Good Luck.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but glad others may be able to benefit. Shame your over the pond to me as whole bike wanted at that price. If you do part out I need the complete radiator and few other bits .....

Re: fs 1997 many good parts

Thanks for your reply it does look like I will be parting out the bike as many people are asking for parts. It looks like I could get more if I part it out.Thank you for your support.

Kw, sorry to hear you want down. Looking forward to hear you are back in the saddle soon. I understand that Honda will finally break out the Blackbird replacement (V-4 shaftie) in 2010, so your timing is good.

PM me if you have a straight front wheel to sell.

Feel Better.

Do you have a right side mirror in good shape. I am looking for one for my bike. Also the exhaust pipe for the right side. Thanks
