To those that have had to do a little bit of fileing to get to fit proper on the '97s,,,,,Sorry! I didn't know!

Dave,

Got my pegs installed yesterday--I have a '97, and sure enough had the same fitment problem talked about earlier in the posts. Took a ginder wheel to the "ramp" portion of the peg getting in the way, and easily got them to fit. The brackets look great, and make a nice difference. Did you ever make a lowering bracket for the ZX14?

Thanks

Sadly, no I havent. Although there is some intrest in them, there just wasnt enough to cover the initial expense of R&D.

I need to put a small bumper on the side stand to get it out of the lever. I have a welder but need to think about it little more. The right peg was a little more of a challenge. I installed the kit but didn't decide on how to adjust the brake pedal due to lack of tools or so I thought. I disassembled the entire pedal and figured out that there are different things you can do at different levels of assembly. To make it short, I covered the pipe with a floor mat and put a 2x4 behind the lever to protect the swing arm. Got the air cut off tool out and was done in a couple of minutes.Safety glasses are a must for me because the wheel spins towards me and not away. I also put an additional bolt (8 x 20)on the nut so when I removed it it would follow the threads and clean them up from the cut. I also used a file to deburr the lower end. adjusting the brake light switch can be done also by assembling the bracket and loosely attaching to the bike to test the function of the switch. a little wd-40 to clean and lubricate is good too. I have the pedal almost matched to the original geometry, a little high, but I'll adapt. I tried to document but some of the pictures got a little blurry. Also, removing that pin behind the lever bolt is a whole lot easier with the bracket removed !!!. // smurf

There are two threads on this and I wanted to put this here to complete this project. Just for reference. many thanks for Pete and Para for providing the last bit of info for getting the brake lever adjusted.
