Yes it had the same issue. I just took my time with the grinder and kept checking the fit on the peg. When I was close I then used an air tool with a sanding disc on it. Again slowly, checking fit. When I could put the pin through the peg and the bracket, I then compared the two brackets to make sure the angle of the pegs were even. Took me about 20 minutes. I also had to file the pin hole for the original pin from the bike. For this I use a round file and took my time to make sure the holes stayed round. Once the pin could just barely slide in I stopped and assembled the rest.

I had the same issue - thanks for the microfiche to verify it. I took a few pics to show how I handled it. First, I did have to drill out the pin hole one drill bit size larger to get the stock pin to fit through. Pic #150 shows the rest of problem. First step was to clean up the peg casting, which is pics #145 & 147. Next thing was to file the "edge" on the lowering bracket a bit, and then we have the pieces fitting in #149 & 151. Simple!

Dave,
I got the brackets today. The stock pin won't fit. I found some brass ass seat screws that work through the brackets to the peg holders for now. I will either make the bracket holes bigger (round metal file) or find something else that works better. I can't wait to try them out. My bro may want a pair too!! Thanks.

I can vouch for Dave's peg lowering kit - I put a set on my Bird, which I just got recently - great improvement!
Other than that, the bike is fine in stock form. But I also put a clear tank protector pad on to save the tank and have a couple left in the classifieds.

Hi Dave --
Hope you had a good trip and are not getting flooded out over there in 'sconny. Snailmail letter, and a check for one set of your brackets, in the post today. I'm already looking forward to putting them on the 'bird for a trip later this summer.
Thanks!
MotoMatt
