Re: Going to Germany

I would so go to Berlin. Great city, history, infamy, now a young vibrant population.

The Hotel Stern in Bad Hersfeld had a great Deer Steak with cherries.

Re: Going to Germany

If you go down the Moselle River from Koblenz (almost halfway to Bitburg, stay at a little village called Cochem...great castle, old village square and right in the middle of wine country (mostly riesling, but others as well), so plenty of small traditional wine cellars to visit.

If you have time in Hamburg, go for a trip up to Lubeck...beautiful old (heritage listed) port town with very traditional architecture. Great for a couple of days wandering around the small cobblestone streets and shopping from local craft stores.

Enjoy!
