Re: Chicago Charity rides

Just wanted to post up the post Little Angels Pledge Run report. The morning ride to breakfast was chilly at best. About 41 degrees. From breakfast to the run it was a little better since the sun was out for a while. The run was nothing less than great. Plenty of sunshine with wonderful scenery and plenty of bikes. About an 80 mile ride. Got a voice mail that 2 XXer's came down from the Milwaukee area to join in on the ride. Didn't get to meet them till after the ride but it was great to meet Sushiman and Outlawgibb. We had a great conversation about XX's and the forums. Sorry for getting mixed up in the crowd before you guys left, I looked for you. I talked to Sushiman after the wife and I got home and told him that we are going to be up in his area for the Indy Car race at the Milwaukee Mile. Hope to hook up with you guys up there for lunch before the race. It sounded like there were 4 XX's at the run today, the most I've known about. Although a long day, it was a great day all around. Cheers.

Edit: Almost forgot, my blackbird got hit by a blackbird on the run. Doing about 55, a black bird came out of nowhere, swooped in front of me and bounced off the front fender and up into the radiator area. When I started to slow down, it fell out the bottom of the lower fairing. No damage, but I think I knocked the s**t out of it, 'cuz it's all over my fender. Yuck.

Re: Chicago Charity rides

It was a long HOT HOT day but was a great ride. Lots of bikes. Hooked up with compuw22c aka Jeff and finally rode with another 'bird...walking around the staging area walked right up to another 'bird, a yellow '97. Waited to see who it was and went to say Hi, he is a forum member here, jazznhouseof6 aka Bruce...very nice to meet ya...we talked about getting some chicagoland 'birdies together for a ride...I told him that it was in the discussion stage still, trying to figure out dates...Jeff just aquired his 'bird and is still getting used to her...wants to go out and ride, best thing he can do...we talked quite a bit about our 'birds at breakfast...anyway, good ride and met some cool 'bird pilot's...cheers.
