Re: Republic Of Texas Rally - Austin, June 11-14

I am staying at the Suburban extended stay in Austin.

I am all for riding up with others. I just did 1k ride by myself. I can only sing sooo many songs in my head.

I will be leaving for Austin on Saturday morning.

Excellent Silverbird, hope you can make it!

Found out today, we'll be at the Embassy Suites at the Arboretum.

For those that haven't booked rooms and still need to, the Embassy Suites is booked full, but the Courtyard Marriot right next to it still has rooms available, as well as some others in the Arboretum area.

It looks like:

Myself (Jon)
Sarge
99BlackBird
RazinKane
redneckrider (Chris)
Gabe
Uvalde (Jim) - ?
Silverbird - 90%

And hopefully Champ

It appears most of us are arriving at different times, it looks like most are arriving on Saturday, with a couple of us making the run to Shiner with my normal crew.

Have you found out where you are staying at yet? I live in Lockhart which is about 30 miles from the ROT location in Austin. Tell me where you guys are gonna be and I will meet ya then.

Oh yea, Lockhart is the BBQ capitol of Texas too. You guys ought to consider that.

I shutter when I hear of bikes going down...but glad nobody was hurt too bad...better the bike than the biker, let's find you another one, I think there's one just outside Austin with low miles and custom white paint.

And to those who will make the ROT Rally, I'll see you on Friday!

Re: Republic Of Texas Rally - Austin, June 11-14

Anybody want to ride down with us on THURSDAY morning?

Stands up from Grapevine 7:30

Stands up from Weatherford ~8:30

There *may* be a quick stop in Arlington to pick up one rider

Route will be west of I35, breakfast at Stephenville, pie in Marble Falls

If you're on for this, get with me, we'll get together a day or two before we head down.

--------

Friday ride to Shiner, who's in? Stands up from Embassy Suites at The Arboretum after breakfast (should be ~9:00), lunch at Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, full day of "easy" riding, back in time for the Midget Wrestling (yes, there will be *midget wrestling*). Then head to Sixth Street for some fun n' suds.

------

Saturday is kinda up in the air, current probable plan is to wander the rally grounds in the morning, possibly a short afternoon ride after lunch, and may head back to Dallas mid-afternoon unless compelled to stay longer.

Ok I'm 100% and leaving from Spring on Friday early as possible (yet to be determined). Probably between 1 and 3. Anyone want to ride up together give me a call 936-672-0387. I plan on going the back way which takes you through the National Forest (nice ride). We should pick a meeting spot and time.

Awesome!

1 and 3 am or pm? lol...I'll keep you posted via text if you want, but I expect that after lunch we'll be on a more "spirited" pace.

I don't know anything more than as above, other than I got the lunch spot nailed down as "somewhere in Lockhart" lol

Shoot me your number and I'll keep you posted via text if you'd like...

I have no idea what the Friday ride route will actually be or I'd GMap it and post it so that people could link up and fall in if they wish.
