chicagoland bike runs

Hey all you chicagoland Birdies, just another shot at trying to get some 'Bird riders out for some rides. Charity and non-charity. The Little Angels run is May 18th out of Woodstock. The Illinois Freedom Run is June 21st out of Joliet out to Marseilles. They close down the town like Sturgis with bands, food, vendors and thousands of bikes. I have a few fellow riders that like to get out on the weekends as well just to ride. Would like to see some 'Bird riders out there this year. Will post up if I hear of any other rides. xxnutz do they have a website or newsgroup? Joliet to Marseilles is just a stroll. My raquetball buddy lives in J-town. I'm going to try to hook up with him to roll out there. Maybe we can show him a thing or two about the Blackbird.

I don't know if I will be able to make that one just yet. I have a friend from the UK coming in but don't have the exact dates yet.

We are planning to meet for breakfast at Colonial restaurant on Randall Rd. in Algonquin the morning of the 18th weather permitting. Anybody interested in joining us is more than welcome. By the way, my XX is entered in the bike show at the run so I need all the support I can get. Cheers.

asystole, Looks like you are from the Rockford area. If you want you can use the members section on top of the forum bar and map your location. If you didn't want to do that you can also use the MAP to find fellow XX riders in your area that are mapped. I'm going to see if I can make it on the 18th. Would love to ride with some fellow XX riders. I do think that I will be busy with a friend from the UK that is coming in that week. He rides but he will have his family with him. If he was coming in solo I would just have him join us on my other bike.

Sorry we couldn't hook up this time but hopefully soon. I would like to meet up with some fellow 'Bird riders. The "freedom run" is coming up June 21st. Anyway, I did brave the 45 degree temp yesterday morning with the wife on board to ride for the "little angels" run. It was quite chilly but tolerable and got better as the day moved on. The temp gauge on my 'bird was on the bottom end of the scale most of the day. It was a good turn out for the run regardless of the temp. As for my XX being in the bike show, well let's just say that it was the only non-harley in the show. Alot of people looked at it and even had one guy ask how fast I have been on it. By the time we got home we were tired from the cold and gusty winds we had during the run. Hope to hook up with you XXer's soon. Cheers.

The freedom run is coming up this sat. Any 'birdies planning on going? We generally hook up some place and ride down to the nascar track where the run starts. Last year we met other riders at the Cadillac Ranch in Bartlett off rt. 20 just west of rt. 59. Let me know if you want to hook up for the run. Cheers.

Anyone not being able to make it to the run is welcome to come to black Sunday at Great Lakes Dragway in outside of
Union Grove WI, Its on the 22nd. It would be nice not to be the only bird trying to show up all them busas

Planning a ride on Saturday 07/05/08 towards Galena from Rockford, nice curvy hilly route 20, will be meeting in Rockford. Time and location to be determined. Who's in, It'll be a beautiful day!!!
