HRCA has organised a track day at Phillip Island on Saturday 15th Dec 2007.

Are there any Oz members that would be interested in coming down to this? I will definitely be there. I rode the track last week and cannot wait until I can get back to do it again . It would be great to see a number of birds on the track and maybe try out a couple of bikes that Honda will be supplying (incl 2007 CBR600RR)

I may even install the 6mm shim to see what difference it makes on the track.

Went down to the track day at Phillip Island yesterday. Raining all morning, but most of us still went out in the first session, just avoiding the puddles. Second session didn't go quite so well. Took turn 2 slowly - cold tyres, wet track, etc. F*&^ing inconsistent Dunlop 205. Went faster in the first session warm up - gripped perfectly. Went slower in the second session - low sided me. Bye bye mirror, stator cover, scratched up belly pan side and upper cowls and the exhaust pipe.

Will post pics when I finish crying.....

Hi Nutter

Really sorry to hear about the low side.

Phillip Island is a great track, just a shame what happened.
At least you got to enjoy it properly the previous week.....

Maybe Santa will help with some repair parts for Christmas

The damage isn't TOO severe (well it is to me anyway...), but I've never seen a clutch lever bend like that.

Just a few bumps and bruises, a bit of a headache and some hearing loss (feels like a huge lump of dislodged ear wax ). Now I know how it feels when you see the racers tumble through the air .

Damnn Shame,
Looks better than my lowside on my 03 though. Also it is a shame that you are in Australia since I have a NICE set of stock pipes I could hook you up with for a reasonable price. They are pretty much perfect, but they are USA spec, which appears to be different than your pipes, at least at the mid pipe.

Now I know what mine will look like if I drop her on the left.
Just a bit of bark damage mate, You're OK and ready to get back on the saddle .... And thats what counts.

Got the replacement stator cover(sorry, it's officially called the "AC Generator cover") on her now.

Got quoted $65 for a new clutch lever. I think I involuntarily stepped back a bit, so the dealer said that he had a VFR lever which was exactly the same and it only cost $25.

While I have the panels off I am installing the HID, and hopefully the Pro-Oiler from Pablo turns up shortly so I can do everything at once.

Just saving up for a replacement fairing from the US which I will paint up and keep the damaged ones for track days, etc.

Falling off is not really fun, I dont recommend it to anyone.
