I live about 35 miles East of Atlanta, GA. This is a good 120 mile loop to a neat little town. It's where Fried Green Tomatoes was filmed. Lots of fast sweepers. I went south from Montiello on Hwy.11 (which is a Ga. Scenic Byway) to Round Oak through the Piedmont Nature Preserve into Juliette. This weekend is the annual Fried Green Tomato Festival. Funnel cakes too!
I went North on Hwy. 23 to Jackson, picked up Hwy. 36 North tho Hwy 162, and then Hwy 212 home.

When I say fast sweepers, there are dozens of 80-90+ rights and lefts connected by l-o-n-g straightaways. Blew the carbon out today with an indicated 137mph once!

Didn't see a single LEO either!

Sounds like a great ride. Good way to blow out the carbon.

Had a nice shrimp lunch in Telico Plains last week. The leaves on Cherohala are great right now.

How are you getting back to Daholenga? 68 to 39 to 315 into Reliance, then 30 to 64 to 68/60 into Suches would be my route. ( OK Oldgeezer showed it to me).

I wish I had the time for another trip. I need to scrub off a little more chicken stripe.

Take pictures and enjoy.

Thanks, I'd LOVE to go back up, but $$$ wouldn't allow a trip up right now. I got laid off a couple of weeks ago & I'm on the job hunt right now, besides, my back tire wouldn't allow it either, money's going to more important things right now.
